  1. Very sorry for New Zealand, they got robbed here, hopefully they will win a gold somewhere else, i hope that the chinese girl wont steal the gold in womens shot put, it belongs to Adams.
  2. Haha ... thats exactly what i said when i saw their qualifying time. Its just too obvious and pretty funny how desperate they are to defend their results from 2012. They are a western country, so i guess everyone will be happy ...
  3. I think mens artistic gymnastics is much more competitve, so it should be difficult to become equally dominant on the mens side. In addition to that you need different strengths in mens artistic gymnastics, so you cant just copy the training methods.
  4. Very happy for Mustafina, she won the bronze as predicted. I hope that Biles will win all the golds and then retire afterwards. I know this is somehow normal in artistic gymnastics, but i just cant watch women looking like 10 year olds doing sport.
  5. I dont quite get why we wanted to lose this match, but i trust our coach, he normally knows what hes doing. I still think that its unfair for the other teams in our group who might not make the quarterfinal in the end.
  6. I agree, this is very worrying. They were absolute shit in team sprint all the years and now they ride an olympic record out of nowhere. Also interesting to know: Their (german) coach in mens team pursuit said that they already did a world record in training ... Half a year ago they won 2 golds, now they will probably end up with 6-7 golds again, this is just ridiculous. On the other hand it makes perfectly sense if you think about the british dominance at the Tour de France + Armitstead.
  7. I think Krpalek was the czech flag bearer? Great to see that the curse had no effect on him. GB has won medals in many different sports already, they have an amazing diversity!
  8. Wait ... what? We won 3 golds today? Something must be wrong, i have a bad feeling for the rest of the day. Congrats to all opponents of the german athletes for the rest of the day (womens archery, canoeing slalom, womens tennis, track cycling, equestrian dressage, hockey and judo). Congrats Engleder!
  9. Wow, congrats to Poland, Lithuania, Switzerland and Croatia! Its great to see the diversity in rowing. The great thing about rowing is that apparently many small nations have one great boat and are sometimes even able to win gold.
  10. About Chalmers: Its crazy that he is already that clutch and didnt go out too fast (like Condorelli). I also think that he could be amazing in the 200 free, especially because the 200 free is less competitive nowadays. I know that he should be able to improve considering his age, but he doesnt look like 18 at all, so i am not so sure whether he could really get much faster in the future. I said the same about Bukowiecki (that he would never be able to do 22 m or more) in mens shot put and he is still improving, so i might be wrong. About Belmonte: Deserved win for her. She has many minor medals and deserved a gold in my opinion, considering her crazy schedule. Huge respect to Groves, i thought that she would be lucky to win a bronze, but she improved her PB and was able to beat the current world champion. In addition to that i love to see young swimmers who risk something and try to win the race from the beginning. About Cate and McKeown: Cate should win the gold, Sjöstrom and Kromowidjojo look worse than expected, i think Kromowidjojo might have a better chance in the 50 free. I think only Oleksiak has a chance to beat Cate, she seems to improve every day and we dont know how high her ceiling is. I dont see McKeown winning gold. After the semifinals i would say that this race is completely open, i just hope that Efimova wont win. Before the competition i thought that Kaneto, Solnceva and Efimova would win the medals. My hope is that Pedersen will somehow get a medal. The way this meet has been going so far, i wouldnt be too surprised to see something like Kaneto ahead of Smith and Tutton/Renshaw. Mens 200 back: Should be between Rylov and Murphy in my opinion. Bronze pretty open, probably Pebley or Larkin.
  11. Best 3 count, otherwise the Netherlands would already be out. Its great to see that someone from Poland follows this sport, although your country isnt one of the best in this event!
  12. You are right, he won the gold for Kuwait not for the IOC. Bach is obviously desperate for some fame, otherwise he would have allowed him to compete for Kuwait.
  13. Sad to see Pejcic already out, for me this was the second safest gold in shooting, only behind Rhode. At least Croatia already won a surprising gold in shooting, now i am a bit sad that i bet 10 points on Croatia finishing in the medal table ahead of Serbia ...
  14. Wow, congrats! Was your team even among the favorites before the olympics? I am really shocked that your boat was so close, obviously our team wasnt in a very good shape. So you will leave Rio with at least one silver and a gold, am i right to assume that this is more than expected?
  15. Yes, finally you got that your comment was off-topic. I think its best for both of us if you just ignore me in the future, then i wont have to deal with your nonsensical comments anymore. By the way: Generic? Your brain really seems to work (remember) well ... at least most of the time. Interesting question: You said that they (those i criticized) have olympic/world records, but that cant be said about Balandin, so doesnt one counterexample prove you wrong? Lets just assume that you werent talking about Balandin (Which is weird, because i only mentioned mens 200 breast and womens 100 free ... So you just excluded 50% of the athletes i talked about?), otherwise you probably should have said that MOST of them have olympic/world records.
  16. We are really embarrassing in rowing, we should end the funding. We are decent in both quadruple sculls and mens eight, but in all other boats we are a third-world countries at best. Normally i would say that most other nations outdoped us, looking at the results, but then we probably would be shit in all disciplines ... I also wonder what happened with our mens quadruple sculls, they were shit all season long and now they are suddenly the best ... ?
  17. Yeah, your poor english also bores me, but i dont say anything, because its off-topic and the same can be said about your comment here. By the way: The winner of mens 200 breast neither has a world record nor an olympic record, please at least try to get your facts right the next time before you write.
  18. Sad for Verniaiev and Larduet, but Verniaiev didnt deserve more than 14.9 points, he had a worse landing than in qualification. Uchimura really has nerves of steel, i think he might be the first double olympic champion from Japan in a very long time, Verniaiev still has a very good chance for a gold on parallel bars.
  19. Another disgusting result, very sad for Dershwitz, Kiefer and Thibus.
  20. Disgusting results in mens 200 breast and womens 100 free. I am happy for Belmonte and Chalmers.
  21. I doubt that Chalmer will break the world record in the next 12 months, but lets see. I dont see McEvoy winning the gold, i just hope that it wont an american or Scott, but i fear that Adrian will defend his title. Belmonte should win womens fly. My prediction is gold/silver for Hoshi/Belmonte and bronze for Groves or a chinese girl. Germany being a powerhouse in swimming was a joke, we have been horrible in swimming for many years. We made some good progress recently, but we werent able to show it here. Wierling (mens 50/100 free), Vogel (mens 200/400 free), Brandt (mens 400 free), Wellbrock (mens 1500 free), Heidtmann (mens 400 IM), Hintze (mens 200/400 IM), Köhler (womens 400/800 free) and Wenk (womens 100 fly, 200 IM) should have a good future + we have some good athletes who are in their early 20s (Vom Lehn, Diener, Heintz, Graf) and some good talents who are still too young to tell whether they will become world class or not. We will never win 10 medals in swimming, but i hope that we will be able to win about 6 medals in 2020.
  22. Wow ... Dershwitz already lost in the first round! Today is our last chance for a medal and Hartung got an impossible draw with Homer and Yakimenko, there is no way that he can survive long enough to win a medal.
  23. Yeah, its very difficult to win against Russia in fencing, almost as difficult as beating them in boxing or figure skating. Really horrible result, a podium without Thibus is senseless, they could as well just end the competition now.
  24. Wait ... what? Didnt follow the results so far, but Italy winning 3:0 against France and Canada winning against the US? What is going on with the US team on the mens side? Still really sad that we didnt qualify, only Italy, Russia and Brazil probably wouldve been out of reach.
