  1. The suspension of Seo Seung Jae has been postponed from the end of Olympics to the end of 2020. The decision is made by Korean federation. The reason is for the sake of his innocent partners. Basically this issue is solved in a perfunctory way. The source is in Chinese: https://sports.sina.com.cn/others/badmin/2020-02-20/doc-iimxyqvz4462042.shtml
  2. Why not Iran suggest itself hold the game? Iran doesn't ban Chinese in my memory.
  3. China is ok with the arrangement? If I were the Chinese official I would say no and offer the FINA similar options, having the match in Rotterdam just before the worldwide qualifier begins and then whoever lose it continuously participate the next one( hopeless anyway) . It doesn't create too much burden for anyone and much more fair. One more question, why not Iran hold the game? Because it has to hold men's and women's together?
  4. Annoying, unnecessary and overreacting but not weird for me. It's the priority political mission of the local governors to contain the spread and preventing virus coming into their ruling area. The governors from less developed or rural area tend to take those simple and crude actions. Human right is something fancy only heard about and political mission accomplished is the only goal for them.
  5. Update some current situations about the coronavirus and potential influence about the sports based on Chinese media and social platform. 1. The situation of Hubei province where Wuhan is is still quite severe. The shortage of in-patient beds and medical staff is somehow relieved but still not fully resolved. Temporary mobile cabin hospitals are continuously being built for patient with mild symptoms, mainly for isolation. These hospitals are made use of sports stadiums and university dormitories including those supposed to hold boxing qualifier. It still takes a long time to control the situation there. 2. The situation of rest part of China is much better now thanks to the lockdown of Hubei province. The number of daily new patient drops for consecutive 13 days from 800+ to 100+. Some provinces have no new patients now. Although some epidemic prevention control work is still very strict and kinda affect people's daily life, people are more relived and less panic now. 3. Chinese start to worry about Japan. Not because of Diamond Princess, but the localized infection seem to happen. Chinese think the Marathons and Naked Festival in Japan are extremely risky and that's how the infection in Wuhan started. If no strong and strict actions to take, the outbreak would take place and may cause the cancelation of Olympics. 4. All kinds of sports events in China before April have been canceled for sure and some of them are postponed or replaced. But most Asian Olympic qualifiers still function and Chinese athletes can participate them as long as meeting quarantine requirement. No significant impact for Chinese athletes until now. Hope Asian qualifiers and the most important Olympic Games in Tokyo would be successfully hosted and the outbreak would end soon.
  6. More like the cancellation of Olympic is unstoppable if thing goes that bad.
  7. Yes it could. But athletes are still responsible to report their location and WADA still can send people from other place to test them. Time to see who are the bravest professionals.
  8. United by Emotion of Tokyo and Passion Connected of Pyeongchang in Chinese almost share the same translation which means Passionate Party. I guess the Korean and Japanese version are more or less the same. Maybe that's the reason why no official Japanese version motto at all.
  9. United by Emotion How do you guys like it?
  10. I am new to catch up this sport, so I don't quite understand why there is one more Europe championships for European athletes. Isn't it unfair for athletes from other continents? Won't they object it?
  11. Kazakhstan can decide whether cancel or postpone it at the end of March. Things change rapidly. If the outbreak is still severe that time, they can ban China just like what the Philippines did right now. China don't care that much because it's not Olympic related.
  12. Personally I think IJF proposal might not work out, because it add some athletes to this sport, other sports association and Tokyo would be against it. If the uncertain water polo issue not included, China hasn't been banned from any qualifiers yet( just withdraw some tournaments) . Most Chinese athletes keep training overseas right now to meet the quarantine time requirement. Chinese athletes don't want free quotas but fair competition environment without prejudice.
  13. China state-run media says China will not participate Asian Championship in India but will compete the Olympic qualifier. I think it means India rejected China and the qualifier will not be held in India.
  14. Is Kyrgyzstan brave enough to accept it?
  15. Until now only some influential media report it and no official confirmation yet. I can't believe it either. It's quite understandable no other asian countries are willing to host it because only China and Kazakhstan are capable to get the quota. No one wants to be the host country with no hope for quota.
  16. So sad Chinese guys lost the opportunity to compete the quota, they kept training in Europe all for a long time to prepare the qualifier and turn out lost it in a so dramatic way
  17. Both Chinese men and women national team are currently training in Montenegro, Men's team kept training in Spain for a long time before Montenegro and Women's team went there from China at the end of January. Even the event is not suspended, the quarantine time should be still enough. I hope China men's team could win the asian quota because they are the last and only hope of the collective ball games.
  18. 2032 is still a long time to go, lots of things may change. I think Summer Olympic will make Indonesia more open-minded, also it is a good stimulation for Indonesia both economically and geopolitically. Indonesia definitely has its potential to be a major economy in 15-20 years. The living standard, people's income and city skyline of Beijing is totally different from 1996 to 2008. Jakarta could repeat its story i think.
  19. Nothing updated since then and he can't participate the tournaments as independent player. But there is a 'but', if he and his partner are still eligible for Olympic after the deadline, Korean association will reconsider this issue. I think that is a pass card. On the other hand, this issue originated from the sponsorship conflicts, if he solves this anytime, then the suspension will end.
  20. From official Chinese immigration source, Indonesia banned Chinese nationals from 5th February. But still a long time to go for Indonesia tournament, situation may change. As Momota quits the following games, it would be a perfect opportunity for Shi Yuqi and other players to earn points. Shi needs it badly.
  21. For Men's Group and Women's Group yes. For Mix group(Sudirman Cup) the answer is No. It's men single/double, women single/double and mix double. 2 singles and 3 doubles.
  22. Too many points there, China definitely won't give up All England unless GB immigration officially announce travel ban for Chinese, otherwise they can stay in Germany after that tournament to ensure safety. What I really worry is not the European tournaments but those in Indonesia and Malaysia.
  23. China media says Team China confirm they will withdraw from Austria and Spain, but will compete Germany and All England. To prevent the coronavirus, they will keep practicing in Europe this period and no plan back to China after tournaments. Another unfortunate news from Japan media, Momota may not participate any games before Olympics. He need rest for at least 3 months for the surgery and return to national team at June. And then he may play Olympics directly.
  24. After this stage the situation became very messy with lots of possibilities and combinations. I thought CHN would grab the asian quota for granted before this, it turned KOR won the gold medal and JPN also got a good result. What I can pray right now is that KOR reach top 4 after last stage and CHN defeat JPN. The good news is the lowest points for KOR and CHN are both 8, but UKR 23 and JPN 25.
  25. 100-60 Let's see if Spain vs GB will play fairly
