  1. This should be an interesting event, Lithuania tends to send everything we've got to these Universiades, so we're expecting a handy amount of medals here & there. Some of our top swimmers are here, some of our best from athletics are here, can't really comment much before I see our official start list, since i only have some information on Swimming and Athletics regarding our participation
  2. What a throw from Dani Stevens
  3. Because the only medal colour that The Netherlands recognise is silver.
  4. Has the standard of Men's high jump fallen so much over the years? It's ridiculous seeing only 6 men after 2.29
  5. Bondarenko is bidding his time to blow everyone out of the water.
  6. Bondarenko is like sitting back and watching everybody else struggle over 2.29. "Dance, monkeys, dance"
  7. The Lithuanian race walkers would probably be up for electronic shoes, we rarely get any warnings during competitions and I don't really remember if we were ever disqualified in race walk. Anyways, 2 girls in top 20 is a pretty great result for us.
  8. well, that's going to be tough for Totallympics squad to handle.
  9. These World Championships aren't looking good for Europe. From our Team Championships super league, Italy, Finland, Ukraine, Spain, Switzerland are still without medals with three days to go. Germany, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Sweden, Greece with only one medal and France with two, Poland with 4. Combined that's 11 medals with 9 other medals coming from other European countries. European powerhouses are really underperforming in this edition. Especially with a home advantage.
  10. Yey, 3rd final for us
  11. Ooh, a pretty unexpected 61.48 from Sendriūtė. She's been having a very bad season and only threw 60+ once three weeks ago, so it's nice to see her with a throw that might get her in the final possibly.
  12. Well, I'm excited for 800m semi-finals. Also, Perkovic starting her campaign in the morning session.
  13. Perhaps Bishop could still get one?
  14. Do you have any possible medal contenders for the final three days?
  15. It's not like she had a medal chance even if she made the final. Also, what happened to Trost? I remember her beating Airinė at U23, but she's been struggling these past few years on low-ish heights.
  16. Phew, we're safe. 1.92 seems to be enough for the final today.
  17. @dcro Would've been fun to see Vlašič in this one. On the other hand, what happened to Šimič? She looked very good a couple of years ago, but recently has been struggling around 1.90
  18. Okay, we're safe over 1.89. It's actually very sad how I have to be worried at 1.89 for a person that jumped 2.01 a couple of months back Injuries took out around 30% of our team and when our numbers are small, it really takes its tall. Edis and Airinė were the only ones who decided to participate during rehabilitation of their injuries, whilst other 5 athletes declined participation and a few capable ones were taken our earlier in the season.
  19. For Airinė Palšytė this is only the second competition after a bad injury two months ago, she had troubles with 1.90 after that, but hopefully she'll make the final.
  20. He is badly injured, after breaking our national javelin record, he damaged his elbow and couldn't throw. In those two months until the World Championships he only appeared in Lithuanian Championships and U23, those two appearances was the only throwing that he did during his injury, so he couldn't work on his technique.
  21. Woah, Totallympics really loves Athletics, already 100+ pages of content. Anyhow, I am very happy that Balčiūnaitė made the semi-final, it was very unexpected.
  22. Yes, it was a long wait, but definitely worth while. Too bad that Airinė Palšytė is badly injured, so there's no other chance for a medal for us.
  23. OMG. Gold is ours!!!!!!!!! First World Championships medal after Virgilijus Alekna back in 2005.
  24. Well, I wouldn't say that Gudžius was irrelevant, he had thrown 66+ metres before and this season consistently throwing 67+, but he usually didn't perform well in competitions, apart from the fact that he had multiple medals in U23 and youth categories. We deal with doping in our country.
  25. OMG!!! I expected there could be a medal, but PB with 69 metres is amazing. Nice work by Gudžius!!!
