  1. Well, a song in Lithuanian was already present in two editions before It would be disappointing if you participated in them and didn't hear our language
  2. Well, Israel did mention during last years voting that sadly they won't be coming back to Eurovision and they thanked for all of the wonderful years in Eurovision. Also, did you place that Moroccan flag by accident? What's the most surprising is that there's no news from Bulgaria as they've been doing very well these past editions.
  3. I think I might break the Lithuanian top 10 streak by choosing an old song in Lithuanian, which will take 30th place
  4. Yey, we're out Thought we'd go out against Croatia though. (I'm just a simple person that hates basketball in a country where basketball is everything)
  5. The level in these championships seems so low, we somehow managed to get 1st place after dropping a game against Georgia. Many of the top teams are playing worse than expected, perhaps some things will change during the quarters/semi's, but it seems that everyone can drop a game to anyone, with Spain clearly ahead, followed by Slovenia/Croatia and perhaps someone from group D.
  6. Any reason why Greece is underperforming in this tournament?
  7. I guess I would be ok with only one boat per country during the Olympics, it's just a bit disappointing that you can only enter 1 during the World Championships, World Cup events, Continental Championships etc. Many athletes are left on the sidelines, because they can't get to these events and are forced to form 4's / 8's in Rowing if they ever want to compete. It's a huge problem here in Lithuania for our canoe slalom and rowing, since most of our athletes are always capable enough to reach finals/semi-finals in the most important competitions, a few of the athletes that can't beat them and the younger generation pretty much doesn't get to compete anywhere for the full season and that leaves the teams with no reserve, because there's a certain amount of sideline time that a person can take before calling it quits.
  8. Well, we've seen Laura work around 80-90 second disadvantages before the last discipline, perhaps she'll show her magic again.
  9. A disaster for Annika Schleu in the riding. And Laura making life extremely difficult for herself...
  10. It's safe to say that swimming is the discipline that changes nothing in modern pentathlon.
  11. Well, he's always been good, it's just been a long run of top 15's, which I wouldn't see as success for an athlete of his calibre. I'd say his golden age was 2009-13 and then he had a fall in form.
  12. Ooh, I did not expect Kinderis to take a medal He has been struggling a little bit after his 2013 success, so it's really nice to see him competitive again
  13. Yeah, 5-6, if everything is alright with the riding, I think it's a silver at least. I'd say gold, but Schoneborn got a pretty decent advantage after fencing and she isn't a pushover in the running either.
  14. Laura Asadauskaitė in top 10 after fencing, if she doesn't fall off her horse, I think that we've got a medal.
  15. The Olympic discipline changes are really taking a tall on our team, since we've mostly known for sprinters. 70% of our team changed their disciplines and I think that's one of the primary reasons why we're leaving this competition without medals. Still, 4 finals and a lot of semi's gives me hope that we should fix everything in a year or two.
  16. Pretty weird time to retire. With the Russian women's team being fairly weak these couple of seasons, she had a chance to go to the Olympics.
  17. Wait a frikkin' second, something is not right here
  18. Where were these Chinese Taipei Javelin Throwers during the World Championships. They're performing pretty well now.
  19. Expected a larger appearance from South Korea.
  20. I think it's just most of the Western Europeans boycotting this since it's held in Russia. Summer Championships used to be a little bit more of a popular affair.
  21. If you look into them for a long time, you might be able to see Slovenia too
  22. These Summer Championships feel like that big old family gathering from all over the world, it's just that everybody's Russian with some Eastern Europe/Balkan cherry on top.
  23. I'd celebrate us not being last, but Paulauskaitė is fully capable to be outski'd by more than a minute by anyone in this race. Edit: Outrolled
