  1. There is no pot system, number of groups will determine the number of seeds. After the seeds were drawn according to the regulations, the remaining players are just randomly drawn until the draw is complete
  2. How many seeds and groups? It depends
  3. Italy vs Austria today and my fellow national anthem enthusiasts has been talking about the "gia l'Aquila d'Austria" part of the Italian Anthem
  4. Women's update - Semifinals: 0-2 1-2 China is still through despite having to forfeit one match
  5. I highly doubt the opening uniform will be any different... I remembered one comment in a forum back in 2016 which that say Chinese opening uniform is always "omelette with tomatoes"
  6. Welp, we had qualified for Beach Volleyball in 1996 actually. I'll take that as wishing us to qualify for the second time
  7. Men’s update: The match for the quota will be contested by and SF result: 2-0 2-1
  8. Yeah only Japanese and Korean have the possibility to do this. It is still possible for Hong Kong to march as "Chuugoku Honkon (中国香港)" - we can't be sure on anything until the opening itself
  9. So China is actually not offended if Chinese Taipei marched before them except when China is hosting... I always thought that Nagano 1998 uses English because of this case. Anyway it is Katakana instead of Hiragana
  10. Semifinal: Men’s vs vs Women’s vs vs
  11. At least that person resigned.. Our taekwondo team wasn't able to go to Asian Qualifiers because the guy in charge did not register them in the online registration system (but applied for visa and hotel lol). So after the poor athletes arrived in Jordan, but they weren't allowed to compete. To make it more ridiculous, one official from the Ministry of Youth and Sports complained to the Korean ambassador in Indonesia and asking him to make World Taekwondo president intervene and allow the Indonesian athletes to compete
  12. The Rugby World Cup feel is so strong
  13. So far I've been only to Singapore Olympic Museum, would definitely love to go there ASAP
  14. Finally got my first dose of vaccine... Have to get this one fast because the center I'm going is bureaucracy free. In (most of) vaccination centers in Indonesia, we have to get a letter from the district head which states that we live in that district. Outsiders must request an extra letter that states this non-resident is cleared to be vaccinated in another district.
  15. I wondered where our judokas go
  16. Boxing - Men's Lightweight https://postcourier.com.pg/five-athletes-join-team-png-for-the-tokyo-olympics/ Boxing - Men's Flyweight https://criolosports.com/index.php/en/post-formats-2/boxe/boxe-comite-olimpico-internacional-oficializa-wild-card-ao-pugilista-david-pina Not sure about the other boxing quota, for example I found got two for Blast Darelle (men's middleweight/71 kg) and Kathreen Sterling (women's flyweight/51 kg) but the article was a bit dubious https://goals9.com/sports-jo-blast-darrelle-valsaint-representera-haiti-aux-j-o-de-tokyo-2021/
  17. Eh we don't have many choice - basically our medal chances are only from badminton and weightlifting. Personally I'd be happy if Mohammad Ahsan & Hendra Setiawan can get the gold in badminton. Any medal outside from those two sports will be greatly appreciated.
  18. Colombian athlete body shakes like crazy
  19. On the other hand, Vazquez got many new Indonesian fans
  20. I really wished she did not make it at the trials Our team was solely based on that single tournament. She has been in the squad quite a while but I never see her as that good.
  21. Losing like this is the worst
  22. Very likely to win their first medal on 24 or 25 July from weightlifting...
  23. You're very welcome! Thankfully badminton is the sport with the least drama here
  24. Tai Tzu Ying & Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin (Badminton) winning gold would be nice, to stop some dumb Indonesians mocking them Vladimir Samsonov - although probably it's super hard Any country winning their first medal
  25. So basically the former national coach Denny Trisjanto (who is also the husband of Lilies Handayani - the Seoul 1988 silver medalist), is the guy who trained Riau Ega and Choirunisa back when they're still junior athletes. The issue started when the federation did a national coach assessment, where only top 3 coaches will train the athletes in the national team. Denny did not make the cut (ironically he was the one who really supported this coach assessment) and the two athletes refused to train with the new coach citing different coaching style. After some negotiations, the two parties kinda agreed to let Denny come back as long as his salary was not paid by the national federation. But the East Java Sport Commission and the East Java Archery did not allow their athletes to train with the national team. This prompted the national archery federation to dismiss the East Java Archery officials. I didn't really know what happened after that, but they later held a national trials in April 2021 and decided that the top 3 athletes from each gender will be sent to this OQT in Paris. Riau Ega and Choirunisa earned their place from this trials. Meanwhile, Denny is still not allowed to train them but his wife is one of the new coach selected, so I guess there will be no more stupid infighting at least until Tokyo 2020.
