  1. Anyway @MHSN the Indonesian national coach replied to my message and he said that he actually offered Eko Yuli Irawan to compete in AWC since he did not actively request to participate (somehow I felt that he is also unaware about the qualification rule change too). In the media Eko felt that the participation in AWC is not necessary, and already focusing to the Olympics. The coach also said that he will discuss about it and requested my personal contact (but for what? )
  2. In Indonesia there are not much “sport journalist”. I think many are football specialists who are “forced” to report on other sports. Since the biggest sport magazine in Indonesia stopped their activities a few years back, sports news online are mostly jokes in term of quality. Any time some athlete wins a World Cup series in a sport (like wall climbing for example) they will write “World Champions! Greatest in the World!” while we know exactly that it is just a normal, annual tournament series. To make it worse, since the sport federation heads are mainly politicians/army generals who are close the current government and know nothing about the sport, they just came to press conference reading their script and those clueless journalists just write anyhting they can hear (many times they can’t even get the athlete’s name right!)
  3. Lol you might be even more surprised that BWF forgot to implement their own rule regarding rankings and my friend repeatedly emailed them about that before they finally realized their “mistake”
  4. I think yes, it’s too late I will just break this to an investigative journalist to blow this up
  5. As of now the problem is settled and he is allowed to train with his personal coach (with his own funds). Yes the problem is his participation, I also think that he needs to at least participate here to seal his place in the Olympics - but it was too late to register at the AWC due to the feud. The bad thing is that the media and the Indonesia OC thought he was already qualified..... I am planning to contact the national team coach, hopefully he will answer...
  6. Beijing 2008 is the first Olympic I watched, and clearly remembered the badminton men’s doubles final... My uncle stayed in my house and we watched the opening ceremony together - clueless with the parade order
  7. indonesia IRELAND 12 GERMANY 11 BRAZIL 10 FRANCE 9 CANADA 8 BULGARIA 7 CHINA 6 ITALY 5 MALTA 4 INDIA 3 MEXICO 2 UNITED STATES 1 Terima kasih dan selamat malam! Thank you and good night!
  8. indonesia GERMANY 11 BRAZIL 10 FRANCE 9 CANADA 8 BULGARIA 7 CHINA 6 ITALY 5 MALTA 4 INDIA 3 MEXICO 2 UNITED STATES 1
  9. indonesia Selamat malam Polandia, selamat malam dunia! Indonesia di sini! Good evening Poland, good evening world! Indonesia is here! BRAZIL 10 FRANCE 9 CANADA 8 BULGARIA 7 CHINA 6 ITALY 5 MALTA 4 INDIA 3 MEXICO 2 UNITED STATES 1
  10. Almost forgot today Thank you for those who has voted for Indonesia @Cobi@NikolaB@amen09@Olympian1010@dezbee2008 and I hope I didn't jinx by coming
  11. A weak country with 270 million population can't even find itself in the table
  12. I think realistically we can get at most 3-4 medals... Badminton - men's doubles (hopefully Ahsan/Setiawan) > best gold chance Badminton - women's doubles Badminton - mixed doubles Weightlifting - Eko Yuli Irawan
  13. Unfortunately athletes have no voice in that... The passing chance are higher than 2018. Lot of Indonesian fans were "betrayed" by the federation. The Indonesian federation wasn't opposed to the changes, but they wanted to changes to be introduced not at the Olympic qualification period.
  14. Two people attempted to enter the Indonesian National Police HQ, one woman carrying a pistol was shot dead
  15. Thank you for reminding me without tagging
  16. And they won it, did not expect that at all.
  17. Haha yeah angry comments here and there. I’ll just peacefully stay away from social media as much as possible and watch sumo instead.
  18. Unfortunately not everyone is calm enough to absorb this. Suddenly this became a fight between Indonesian against Western aggresors. With the Danish/Indian false positive case, some even started a conspiracy that BWF just want to stop Indonesian from winning titles (as if the Indonesians can sweep the titles )
  19. Update: The Turkish player is also withdrawn... Now for many people in Indonesia, badminton is suddenly a matter of life or death.
  20. And welcome to another shitshow where Indonesian team is forced to withdraw from All England in accordance to British government regulation because they are “in the same flight with an anonymous positive patient” While the Turkish player who is also in the same flight will be playing her second round match today
  21. Alright what kind of 26th anniversary are we celebrating?
