One thing working in our favor with Luge is that Women's Doubles is just one sled per NOC, so I like our chances there. We'll be 3rd or 4th in the Relay (one of my favorite events)...if everyone slides cleanly, we'll probably be 4th, behind , , and ...but anything can happen in the relay. (I think in my official predictions I had us 3rd. Wishful thinking, I suppose.)

[PREDICTION CONTESTS] Discussion Thread
clemsonbeav replied to Wanderer's topic in Totallympics Prediction Contests
@phelps Personally, I enjoy looking (afterwards) to see what other people think. This being a game with no value other than fun, if anyone wants to 'cheat', that's on them. (Also, congrats on 20,000 posts! Wow!) -
Here's the report, for anyone interested. (It's not as damning towards the Canadians as the headlines would lead you to believe...not shocked.). In here, it does seem as if Uhlaender was hoping to get picked over Ro...yet I thought I read elsewhere (sorry, can't find the source right now) that she ultimately didn't want to take Ro's place... (which wouldn't make sense if it wasn't going to increase our quota). She's probably upset at a number of things...not being picked to WC team first, not having a place for the Olympics, and then this with Canada. It is interesting that the USOPC is backing this, though...one would hope that it wouldn't stoop to the level of personal grievances... final-order-uhlaender-1-1.pdf

Will USA Top The Gold Medal Table?
clemsonbeav replied to bmo's topic in Team USA's Milano-Cortina 2026
Haha...I just did my official predictions. I had 21 Gold, 8 Silver, 15 Bronze. Probably a little too hopeful. It's my optimism kicking in... -

Welcome to the 2026 Milano Cortina Podium Guessing Game! For this competition, you will guess which NOCs will land on the podium for each event. Instructions: 1) Copy and paste the table below in its entirety into your post. 2) Write the 3-letter IOC code for the NOC you believe will occupy that spot on the podium. (Please do not add additional text, and please do not use the emojis. You can write any commentary below your table.) 3) Post your results before the first events of the Games (Wednesday, February 4)! Any edits need to also be made before the first events. All right...time is up! However, there is still a chance to enter the competition. If you get your guesses in by the Opening Ceremony, you will still receive credit for any event that hasn't started yet. That is, you won't get credit for your guesses for, for instance, Team Figure Skating or Mixed Doubles Curling. But anything else is still fair game. I will try to provide daily updates. Best of luck! Scoring: There are going to be two awards. 1) Most accurate medal placements - This will be awarded to the user that correctly guesses the most medals exactly correct. That is, you will receive credit if you think Switzerland will win the gold for an event, and they did in fact win the gold for that event. I will simply tally up the number of correct guesses across all medal events. 2) Most accurate podium makeup - This award will go to the user with the most accurate podium make-up, also receiving a bonus if the guess is exactly correct. For this award, you will receive 2 points if you correctly guess the NOC in the correct medal spot. (You thought Switzerland would win gold, and they did win gold.) You will receive 1 point if you correctly guessed that an NOC will be on the podium, but you guessed the incorrect medal. (You thought Switzerland would win gold, but they won silver.) Users will receive an additional bonus point if you correctly guessed the entire podium for an event.

Glad to see you and @Bear Hollow with your predictions. I haven't made my predictions yet, but I agree with most everything y'all have said. I don't know freestyle skiing or snowboard as well...but the other sports seem pretty locked in. I was hoping for better results from Campbell Wright in Biathlon during the WC season...if not '26, then hopefully in '30! My biggest question mark is how the Women's figure skating podium will be. Alysa won gold in the GP Final simply because she skated cleanly...but if any of the Japanese skaters skate cleanly, they'll come out ahead.
-
I think there are only 2. Italy gets 4. But it will also be weird because I think there are four places where athletes will be marching. We'll see! And I agree with Stolz and Malinin...but I do think they'll both be going home with hardware.
-
Lindsey Vonn? Mikaela Shiffrin? Jessie Diggins? (Did the Closing Ceremony in 2018) Ilia Malinin? Jordan Stolz? Chock+Bates? Nick Baumgartner?
-
@Jaden22 Glad to see someone else from here...I'm trying to get conversation going over in the Team USA Club...check it out!
