  2. I just want to see Argentina play one good match
  3. I just made the calculations and will finish better than / as long as they: - win all 3 remaining games -make a decent goal difference between all them (something like +5 or better) - Montenegro and Denmark both lose to Poland (Denmark play them at home tomorrow, Montenegro away in the last matchday). It would also help inmensely if Montenegro and Denmark tie their remaining game You can make all the permutations with this: http://ultra.zone/2018-FIFA-World-Cup-qualification-UEFA
  4. Yes, but adidas doesn't own football, Wilson doesn't own tennis, etc. These sports are "owned" by an international federation which has "subsidiaries" (national federations) in each country. And every one of them has a say in how the international federation and the game in general must be run. In a video game company only a handful of people make all the decisions. I see there is a video game international federation, but I don't know how much power it can have in practice... at the end each videogame is essentially a totally different "sport" and each company can do whatever it wants with it's product. The situation is not the same as in conventional sports because, for example, there is no "adidas football" or "nike football", there is one association football game and there are companies that just provide the products to play it.

  6. Indeed, Ngapeth acts like a cocky douche at times, and it is not an unpopular opinion in the volleyball world.
  7. No. For the simple reason that games are made and owned by companies.

  9. Of course I wasn't serious, but anyway I would like to see what results Ledecky would have training in our system I hope this girl is drafted by american university soon, the further away she's from here the better. The 1500 wasn't her best race... until yesterday. In fact, I was very surprised by this time, I was expecting something like 16:10 at best. I'm also surprised the american Sullivan made such a weak time here being that she made monster 15:57 just two weeks ago. I know about the chinese girl not being here but I feel that girl's results will mysteriously get worse in a few years
  10. wow Pignatiello 15:59 in the 1500m, gold medal and new national record The Latin Ledecky (?)
  11. Another medal and national record for Pignatiello in 400, this time silver though I'm surprised some of the girls in this final improved their heat times by 4/5 seconds. Isn't that a bit unusual for the 400? Tomorrow I expect her 3rd medal and record in 1500 (probably another silver).
  12. I feel France will win at the end. About Italy... I said in page 2 that they aren't with best team, maybe you missed it
  13. Pignatiello gold and new national record in 800, now 2 more to go
  14. There was also big win vs USA in the U19 for Egypt and now a decent chance to make QF when facing Cuba.
  15. Historic win over Brazil in U18 world championships

  17. Never thought i would say this in a swimming thread but... i'm expecting 3 medals and 3 new national records
  18. That chilean is cuban? He has cuban sounding name.
  19. They are not doing their job correctly then seriously, without Juantorena, Zaytsev and Birarelli Italy is much weaker.
  20. Italy won't play their best team here, I don't see them challenging any top position. Winner will be France or Serbia, maybe Russia could win too if they have a good week. Poland I feel will dissapoint. Germany with Grozer comeback is a nice bet for dark horse.
  21. No objective criteria, just a mix between Ranking and Commercial interest decided by fih executive board. As you can see in women's for example, belgium was picked above better ranked spain and korea just because they are a bigger market for hockey.
  22. Needs for either a) Trinidad to reach the final of CAC games and Argentina of the SA games or b) make the final of SA games themselves.
  23. ^That and also New Zealand men and Italy women have qualified for the world cup. It is also noteworthy Chile women team making a big upset by beating USA in semifinals, but it wasn't enough since they had to win the cup to qualify for WC, a real pity for a team that has progressed a lot lately. IMO they deserved better luck at world league. Next up european top divisions starting on Friday.
  24. wow that's quite the aggressive journalism. Here if a commentators says something like that he would probably never again get an interview from that athlete, even if the performance was trash they have to say "oh you still did your best effort, thanks for giving us a minute of your time, etc" I guess dutch people are more open to criticism in general though.
