  1. Argentina Entry Fito Paez - Mariposa Tecknicolor Hope you like this song, it came out in 1994 and it's a popular song even to this day. BTW the correct title of the song is the one I wrote above, not the one in the video, but it doesn't really matter There is spanish lyrics in the video and an english translation below (I tried my best with it, but the lyrics are bit difficult).
  2. Barcelona should go to french league then. If they accept Monaco, why not catalan clubs too.
  3. Another day wraps up at the south american youth games... great day for Argentina with 6 golds and all victories in tennis (looking likely that there will be argentines in all 5 finals). Still, Colombia will catch up when the athletics, weightlifting and track cycling start. Only Panama, Guyana and Suriname are still to win a medal.
  4. I think it will be Colombia 2nd, Argentina 3rd and Chile 4th. Also why we have things like MTB eliminator and mixed team fencing but not any sailing or shooting?? don't tell me it's to help Chile at least it's not as ridiculous as 4 years ago when we had weightlifting golds for both snatch and C&J.
  5. What happened to cuban team? I see they didn't participate. Also, losing to ?? EDIT: and Puerto Rico? EDIT2: oh, i see, the hurricane of course. But why Puerto Rico not given chance in final tournament?
  6. Your Facebook friends Nothing against you, but this is why I can't add you... I will get updates from this kind of people in my wall and I'm not interested
  7. Today started the competition at the south american youth games in Santiago The "preview" of Buenos Aires 2018. Argentina already won 3 golds, in women's triathlon and swimming freestyle 50 and 800. Maybe if there is enough interest we can have a thread, but maybe no.
  8. You should also throw out sports like waterpolo or handball too because they didn't exist back then either, but that's not the point I'm making. The competition between nations is the very basic core of the games, If you even ditch that then it's not the olympic games anymore, other than in name.
  9. I'm with Gianlu. The forced gender equality is bad, but this stupidity would be worse. The point of the olympic games (I mean, from ancient greece) was athletic competition between nations (cities/kingdoms back in the day) and crowning national heroes. This would throw away all that tradition just for the sake of "inclusion".
  10. Not only because of african nations, U17 is a coin toss for all continents. Semifinals could be Guinea-Iraq and Paraguay-Costa Rica and I wouldn't be surprised.
  11. There is a thread in the results forum curiously, i think vinipereira may be interested. If not then maybe I will make it.
  12. Points for guessing difference should be reduced in some sports (or conversely points for right winner should be increased), yes. But giving the same 0 points to someone who gets the result wrong (but kind of "guesses" the match will be close) and to someone who also predicts a wrong winner (but by a large margin), will increase the randomness/luck factor. Especially in sports where matches are most often decided by a small margin of points/goals like handball, waterpolo or field hockey.
  13. Historic day for our BMX in Santiago del Estero, first time an argentine rider wins a world cup stage. And on top of that, it was a 1-2 finish by Torres and Molina (respectively Junior World champion 2015 and runner up of 2014). Good future for our cycling
  14. But it's not Argentine NOC deciding this alone, also international federations and IOC. I think it's ok since "it's the youth olympics" and no one cares and also because they need to fill the venues with spectators.
  15. Seems IOC allows Argentina to play both men and women's beach handball. Rules happen to be flexible now...
  16. You mean women only? I don't have the exact ranking but I'm pretty sure Clijsters had worse when she won US Open 2009.
  17. They had 30 shots and almost 80% possession today, problem is they are jinxed and play with fear of losing since minute 1..
  18. It's better if we don't go to WC, maybe that will make people care less about football and more about other sports.
  19. Bye bye wc
  20. I made a little research and apparently it entered the country through German inmigrants in early XX century. Then two guys from Buenos Aires travelled to San Juan and founded a hockey club there and the people from the province just took a liking to the sport and it grew from then to these days.
  21. Also Burkina, Cabo Verde, Congo leading I love African qualifier, it's the opposite of Asia, all unpredictable.
  22. In Argentina it's the opposite: The world championship hasn't been broadcasted on any nation-wide channel in years (since 2009 I think lol), but suddenly ESPN is broadcasting these Rink Hockey games! This sport is only popular in one province (San Juan) and nowhere else in the country. Almost all our players are from there.
  23. Syria kick Uzbeks out in the last minute
  24. The end. Korea is again in going to a World Cup (to lose all games like almost always )
