    What a disastrous start at the Pan Am Championships. Xiao finished last among four Canadians in women's epee. Bogdan Hamilton was the top male in men's foil ahead of all 3 named to the olympic team, with Brozus and Gu well down the table. Nicholas Zhang was 15th in the men's epee. Only silver lining was Brind-Armor won bronze in the women's Sabre.

    I remember reading he withdrew from Gotzis to be cautious of not getting injured. His only event this year was a 400m race in which he was 3 seconds behind his PB. Doesn't look good
