  1. Canada Dressage Camille Carier Bergeron Finnländerin Jill Irving Delacroix 11 Naïma Moreira Laliberté Statesman Eventing Jessica Phoenix Freedom GS Karl Slezak Hot Bobo Michael Winter El Mundo Jumping Erynn Ballard Nikka Vd Bisschop Mario Deslauriers Emerson Amy Millar Truman *Jill Irving is 61, and will be Canada's oldest athlete in Paris *The number one ranked athlete in each discipline was not selected. Bizarre decision by Equestrian Canada. *This caused drama ofc https://www.eurodressage.com/2024/07/05/canadian-olympic-team-2024-paris-announced-chia-lodged-appeal
  2. I checked the eventing rankings and our top athlete is also not going. So in all 3 disciplines our top ranked athlete is not going. IDGI (im sure a lot goes into the selection, but this just seems odd)
  3. Canada recieved three reallocated quota spots; Men's 110m hurdles: Craig Thorne Women's 1500m: Kate Current Women's 5000m: Briana Scott This brings the team to 51 athletes. No others expected.
  4. Radio Canada reporting Craig Thorne, Briana Scott and Kate Current have qualified Edit: official by AC. The way its phrased it seems like no further reallocation is possible
  5. Some drama over the dressage selection:https://www.eurodressage.com/2024/07/05/canadian-olympic-team-2024-paris-announced-chia-lodged-appeal 2 out of 3 disciplines where the top ranked rider for Canada is not going
  6. Our number won't go up if she gets in. She would replace one of the relay runners.
  7. Maldives: 5 athletes Athletics: 1 male Swimming: 1 male 1 female Badminton: 1 female Table tennis: 1 female
  8. Sri Lanka: 6 athletes Athletics: 3 (1 male tbc + 2 women) Swimming: 2 (1 male + 1 woman) Badminton: 1 (1 male) Smallest team since LA84
  9. Yup and Multi sport event host will only see negatives in the media (that's what gets the clicks after all)
  10. Looks like lost their tripartie quota in the 75kg (which originally was an event without a tripartie spot). I suspect they just corrected it.

  12. I wish WA did live updates like the FIS does for the Winter Olympics.. It's way more fun
  13. Junior sailor Carlos Charabati has won gold at the Worlds in the ILCA 4 event!
  14. Yes Josh's list has 314. We will likely be higher in the end, as I hope we get a few athletics reallocations
  15. Canada currently at 314, the exact # in Rio. However number will likely go up as athletics reallocations come through Thanks to @Joshfor keeping track here This would represent a drop of 67 from Tokyo.
  16. Men's 4x100 actually has 7? Degrasse, Rodney, Brown, Blake, Murrary, Asemota and Adjibi
  17. they named 6 per relay (isn't the rule 5?) Also if Konrad gets in, who does she replace?
  18. Canada at 42~ athletes Thanks @Josh Very disappointing number.
  19. Wow that is bleak 42, is disappointingly low. Hopefully we get some reallocations.
  20. Does this include relay additions? If its 42, we are looking at a team size of around 308 ~ Which is less than Rio (which had less events/sports)
  21. I find the limiting of universality quotas to a few events sad. Some countries best athletes don't compete in them. I also don't support removing quota places from events to accommodate them
  22. Palestine (6 athletes) Men's Omar Ismail - Taekwondo Jorge Antonio Salhe - Shooting Yazan al Bawwab - Swimming Fares Badawi - Judo Wasim Abusal - Boxing Women's Valerie Tarazi - Swimming https://calgary.citynews.ca/2024/07/01/six-athletes-including-one-woman-in-palestine-team-for-paris-olympics/
