  1. Pretty much yes. Only exception was Delhi 2010 in the last 5 games
  2. We just started and this is better than Tokyo's ceremony.
  3. Ceremony starts with a meteor sending Shockwave throughout the Commonwealth to many of its key cities such as Sydney and Toronto...
  4. Weird. The Tongan boxer had a communication sent out, so if they were disqualified then there should have been a communication. Did they perhaps withdraw?
  5. The official website has profiles for EVERY athlete that each country put on its short list. This is crazy! lol I am sure it will be taken down
  6. women's boxer in the 50 kg (whose brother intrestingly represented at the 2015 Pan Am Games) is one win away ( QF match vs ) from wining the country's first ever medal.
  7. We have our first medal of the games! "Due to lack of Tonga citizenship, Ula Mele in Woman's 70 - 75kg has been disqualified" - which means is auto guaranteed a bronze.
  8. Swimming entry lists are now available per event: https://results.birmingham2022.com/#/athletic-sports-reports/SWM/*
  9. 4th team is given to the best team not qualified, ie Canada.
  10. Yup its important. Can't stress the importance of having world class facilities. Canada's 2020 Olympic success can be mainly contributed to the 2015 Pan Am Games.
  11. 3/4 of Canada's gold medal winning 4x100 relay team and Pierce Le Page...both gold medal favorites have withdrawn. Rip. Literally most of Canada's top athletes will not be here.
  12. Yea really UK and Australia have traded games this century with India hosting once. Canada will likely get 2030 and I can bet you 2034 will be back to Wales or something. --- I am looking forward to this event as this will be the largest MSE event of the year. Always nice too see and cheer for nations like Norfolk Island who beat Canada to win a bronze last time out.
  13. Canada didn't get enough quotas to enter.... I'd imagine that is the cause of smaller fields. Also there is a WC during the CWG's which gives points for the Olympic rankings if I am not mistaken
  14. It's weird because the CGF sent reminders to cgfs saying events had under subscribed entries and were at risk of being cut. My only guess is there was 5 entries and one withdrew.
  15. Yea in the CWG minimum 5 entrants to award 3 medals. I'm sure it is 8 to award two bronze, which means some of the other women's categories and a couple in judo will award only one bronze.
  16. Had a chance to look at the entries of some events, and I noticed the women's 53 kg wrestling event has only 4 entrants, which means only 2 medals will be awarded (gold and silver).
  17. All 6 of Canada's medalists at Tokyo came into this event with an injury, nursing an injury or were injured here...so really had no expectations. I honestly thought Canada would have the disaster of 0 medals like in 2017....but 4 medals and a top 6 placement overall is a strong performance. Gotta feel for the women's 4x400 relay who seem to finish 4th at every major event lol.
  18. Canada finishes the event... with a you guessed it a fourth place! Sixth place in placing table !
  19. LePage with a solid silver for Canada!
  20. I remember discussing this as an event you could cover in the future, glad it became a reality for you.
  21. What an insane session for Canada tonight. The agony and the win...amazing.
  22. I hope Warner can bounce back like De Grasse did with his hamstring injury. What a disaster. I really do feel for him.
