  11. Cross posting this here for those who may be interested With qualification wrapping up in most sports, I wanted to see the team size difference for vs 2020 (for team sports, I went with the 'normal' size in 2020, instead of the covid increase). I also did not include sports which are not on the Paris program (or were not on the Tokyo program, like Breaking). For the sports not done yet, I have estimated the team size. Sport / Discipline 2020 2024 Difference Notes Basketball 12 24 12 Volleyball - Indoor 12 24 12 Estimated Gymnastics - Artistic 5 10 5 Swimming 24 28 4 Basketball 3x3 0 4 4 Equestrian 6 9 3 Shooting 1 3 2 Volleyball - Beach 4 6 2 Estimated Wrestling 4 6 2 Cycling - Track 13 14 1 Fencing 11 12 1 2 substitutes competed in Tokyo Surfing 0 1 1 Table tennis 3 4 1 Tennis 4 5 1 Estimated Artistic Swimming 8 8 0 Water polo 12 12 0 Archery 2 2 0 Estimated Cycling - BMX freestyle 0 0 0 Football 18 18 0 Golf 4 4 0 Estimated Gymnastics - Rhythmic 0 0 0 Handball 0 0 0 Judo 6 6 0 Modern Pentathlon 0 0 0 Skateboarding 4 4 0 Estimated Taekwondo 2 2 0 Marathon swimming 2 1 -1 Cycling - Mountain Biking 3 2 -1 Cycling - BMX racing 2 1 -1 Gymnastics - Trampoline 2 1 -1 Triathlon 4 3 -1 Canoeing - Slalom 4 2 -2 Cycling - Road 6 4 -2 Sport climbing 2 0 -2 Estimated Boxing 5 2 -3 Canoeing - Sprint 16 13 -3 Sailing 9 6 -3 Badminton 8 4 -4 Weightlifting 5 1 -4 Diving 10 5 -5 Athletics 57 50 -7 Estimated Rugby Sevens 24 12 -12 Estimated Field hockey 16 0 -16 Rowing 29 11 -18 Total 359 324 -35

  13. Who would Canada send to the NORCECA qualifiers?
  14. I mean its cricket, most people don't know/care about the sport in the US
  15. This is a post about our U20 athletics team for worlds. AC has stricter standards for some events (slightly). Men: 100m: 0. We have 3 men surpassing the WA standard (10.55) but none who have passed AC (10.50) 200m: 0. 1 athlete meets WA standard but not AC's. 400m: 0. 1 athlete meets WA standard but not AC's. 800m: 2. 1500m: 1 3000m: 0 5000m: 0 3000m sc: 0 RW: 0 110mh: 0. 1 athlete meets WA standard but not AC's. 400mh: 0 Field events/Decathlon: ZERO, none even close to the standard So we have only 3 male athletes qualified so far. Alarming? Perhaps, or is it too early in the season? Women: 100m: 2. 4 women have surpassed the WA standard, 3 AC's. Shout out to 16 year old Jorai OPPONG-NKETIAH with a 11.51 (the wind was a 2.0 however) 200m: 2. 6 women have surpassed WA and 3 AC's. One has also qualified in the 100 400m: 0 800m: 0. 1 athlete meets WA standard but not AC's. 1500m: 2 3000m: 2: 1 athlete also qualifies in the 1500 5000m: 0 3000m sc: 0 RW: 0 100mh: 0 400mh: 0: 1 athlete meets WA standard but not AC's. HJ: 2 PV: 0 TJ: 1 SP/DT: 1 (Julia Tunks) HT: 0 JT: 0 Hep: 0 Total 7 women So our team size is 10 only. wow. Fwiw 33 was sent in 2022
  16. For the trials? Do not see that in the website of Shooting CA
  17. "It has been 42 years since Team Canada had a competitor in a men’s Olympic pistol event, the last being Rodney Colwell at Barcelona 1992." Im old but not that old
  18. Also had the highest qualification score during the qualification period (579) Ozer's Instagram says he is a Paris qualified athlete ;(
  19. Although Crispin is by the most experienced, he single handily cost Canada a team quota. So nice to see Wilson in
  20. It would be embarrassing to include darts or billiards in the Winter Olympic program.
  21. Cavanagh beat her 5 -0 at the 2022 world's.
