  2. After two races, the USA is well on the way to earning the first sailing quota for the Games in the lighting event. No other nation is close.
  3. The women are at serious danger of being relegated to the B division...unbelievable Curling Canada needs to fire everyone in a leadership position.
  4. Two medals guaranteed for Tripartie quota athlete from Tokyo Donjeta Sadiku also guaranteed a medal.
  5. Two medals guaranteed at the Women's world Championships!
  6. Both Junior teams started a combined 0-3 on first day of the World Juniors....
  7. Alysha Newman is competing in a Heptathlon this weekend... not sure if that is a switch or just a one time thing
  8. Looks like we are headed to a merger of Ski Jumping Canada, Biathlon Canada, Nordic Combined Canada and Nordiq Canada. http://www.nordicstrategy.ca/uploads/2/9/0/5/29058833/nordic_strategy_update_apr-28-22.pdf

  10. Caileigh Filmer, rowing bronze medalist, has switched to track cycling

  12. Beach volleyball: South America guaranteed 7 spots per tournament, most likely 8 (+1 or +2 from Lima). Sucks for the smaller Caribbean islands.
  13. More qualification system news: Badminton: Same system as 2019, May 2, 2023 ranking to be used. Canada has the potential to have 10 athletes (due to Cali winners). Cycling BMX: Men and women each have 20 slots (basically balancing the quota from 2019) Athletics: Quota stays the same, program will be the same as in Paris, all field events reduced to 12 athletes max (down from 14-16 in 2019). Now the games are being held at a bad time, so its likely everyone who wants to compete can. There is no qualification times/distances, rather the winner of four qualifying events + the World rankings from Jan 1, 2022 to September 18, 2023 will be used.
  14. A total of 16 countries qualified wrestlers at the qualification tournament, one more than the ENTIRE 2019 Pan Am qualified list, with half the quotas still left. Not bad! (Does not include wild cards)
  15. Would have been good for fourth in Tokyo!
