  1. I think you are right. Qualification explicitly just states 2023 edition.
  2. Canada I tried to keep the song selection Olympic themed, after all we are an Olympic forum. The song that was selected was Canadian Television's theme song for the 2010 Winter Olympics. I have been super busy so haven't gotten a chance to research/post here until now.
  3. Nice 8 countries qualified. Paraguay's first ever qualifier Karate athlete (since qualification started in 2011)
  4. " Another Olympic rower said that athletes continue to climb the podium “despite” the national organization. She questioned why coach Michelle Darvill wasn’t retained after guiding the women’s eight to Olympic gold. In 2021, Darvill was named both the Canadian coach of the year for all sports, by the Coaching Association of Canada and world rowing coach of the year. “She didn’t have a job the day after we won the Olympics,” she said. “Rowing Canada ended her contract the day after we won the Olympics, she was on a plane with us, no longer an employee of Rowing Canada.” Darvill is now the head coach of the Dutch women’s team, which won seven medals at the recent world championships in the Czech Republic. -Globe and Mail
  5. Golf, BMX, Coastal rowing are new sports added among others to the 2026 Commonwealth Games program. Also shooting is back. No judo or wrestling
  6. And its official, will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games
  7. Just watching the OCA General Assembly. Saudi Arabia proposes 47 events for the 2029 AWG Only Alpine skiing, Snowboarding, Freestyle skiing, Hockey, Short Track speed skating, Curling and Figure skating would be held (the ice sports would have 19 events)
  8. Canadian team for the Pan American Championships in Chile (Recurve) Andrew Azores Devaang Gupta Brian Maxwell Eric Peters Peter is ranked second in Canada, Maxwell 3rd and Azores 8th, with three athletes ahead of him, each with at least two scores higher. Makes no sense. Duenas is again not on the team. He has competed this season, recently as last month, so I don't think he is retired. Stephanie Barrett Eleanor Brug Natalee Chan Virginie Chénier The women have the top 3 in Canada here (Barrett, Brug and Chenier) Chan's best score is a 600, and she is ranked fifth. Fourth place Tania Edwards was not named to the team.
  9. Thought this was too ridiculous not to share.
  10. What a sh*t show Bobsleigh Canada is becoming: https://globalnews.ca/news/9168704/bobsleigh-canada-skeleton-adjourns-agm-voter-eligibility-concerns/
  11. Canada's team for the CAT Championships: https://sfc-ftc.ca/resources/Documents/EN/High Performance/CAT Games Team Announcement.docx.pdf No realistic expectation of any quotas. Greg Sych, Lynda Kiejko, Tugrul Ozer, Madelene Scola, Jason Caswell and Madeleine Boyd all have outside shots of qualifying. So fingers crossed. Unfortunately no Rajpreet Singh.
  12. IIya Kharun, a breakout Swimmer who was named to USA's Junior Pan pac team and was removed later, was just named to Canada's short course worlds team! This is a very promising Swimmer btw!
  13. Canada is about to finish 4th place... oh vey
  14. So it seems like we will get upto 47!! NOCS competing in hockey if I am reading this correctly? Also of note all the other sports except biathlon have published their systems.
  15. Not sure if this has been brought up: Anytime I come into the forum, I see the latest replies from a while ago. Only when I refresh the newer replies will show up on the front page. Not sure why this is happening.
  16. They want to be Urban like Judo wrestling etc. Jk
  17. B division teams: Men: Women: I believe this is the first ever tournament for , and , with having only competed in mixed doubles before. All I can say is wow! The growth of curling has been crazy
  18. I also noticed in the technical manual file, roller sports has been removed.
  19. I don't have the systems, but yesterday PanamSports released a list of sports with qualifiers (and now it has been deleted), which said the winner of each event in boxing, and the winner/silver medalists in Tennis would qualify directly.
  20. What a disaster for Canadian rowing. Only good thing is the revival of the men's eights.
  21. Canada starts the tournament with a comfortable win over Serbia
  22. Panamsports has introduced this for the 2023 Pan Am Games, part of me wonders whose idea this was
  23. Or worse, the IOC drops both and adds a mixed eights
