  1. Team Canada Hugo Barrette – sprint, keirin Allison Beveridge – team pursuit, omnium Ariane Bonhomme – team pursuit Vincent De Haître – team pursuit Jasmin Duehring – team pursuit Michael Foley – team pursuit, Madison Annie Foreman-Mackey – team pursuit Derek Gee – team pursuit, Madison Lauriane Genest – sprint, keirin Jay Lamoureux – team pursuit Kelsey Mitchell – sprint, keirin Georgia Simmerling – team pursuit Nick Wammes – sprint, keirin No women's madison named; and no mention if they will enter the event. What happens now? It is the largest Canadian track cycling team. Source:https://olympic.ca/2020/07/29/track-and-road-cyclists-nominated-to-team-canada-for-tokyo-2020/
  2. Team Canada Karol Ann-Canuel – road race, time trial Hugo Houle – road race, time trial Leah Kirchmann – road race, time trial Mike Woods – road race Source:https://olympic.ca/2020/07/29/track-and-road-cyclists-nominated-to-team-canada-for-tokyo-2020/ Note: Canada did not decline the third male slot. The cyclist will be announced later. All four named competed in Rio.
  3. I lost my mother last week Tuesday. It is literally the most devastating thing to happen to me and tbh I am still in shock/sad.
  4. Yea; Worst rowing venue in Olympic memory tbh
  5. Canada is announcing its Tokyo team tomorrow (and for track)
  6. This is fair and balanced. The hex also becomes the oct.
  7. At this rate we will likely get a Doha 2032 games. No one else will want to bid due to the economic fallout of covid.
  8. The IOC cut quotas from some sports for 2022, and now luge wants more than double the events? Not happening, unless "agenda 2020" is re-worded. As for hockey, 12 teams for men is the perfect number; Adding 4 more teams is not going to make it more competitive.
  9. It needs to be a city that has recently hosted a major event in the area. I can only realistically say the games will likely be delayed to earlier part of 2023 (still a bit of spacing between them and the PAGs).
  10. Actually France will be before Japan, because of this dumb change: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports/2019/12/04/olympics/u-s-france-japan-march-last-2020-parade-nations/
  11. Yup sadly: https://nativenewsonline.net/arts-entertainment/he-was-a-marvel-to-behold-indian-country-mourns-the-loss-of-champion-hoop-dancer-nakota-larance
  12. imo: Because China is a real shitty country that is the "crybaby" of the planet. But now horror stories are coming out from the genocide taking place of the Uighur people in Northwest China, and the horrible human rights situation there.
  13. So 2 in one year?
  14. So if Dakar was moved 4 years, I would suspect the plan is still to have 2022 or even 2023 Youth Olympics. 10 bucks it will be either Qatar or China hosting the event
  15. IOC release says "excellent preparations".. we all know this was going to be a disaster and tbh I don't think 4 additional years will be enough
  16. BREAKING: Dakar 2022 Youth Olympic Games postponed until 2026
  17. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-8510499/World-map-based-Google-data-illustrates-nationalities-want-holiday-2021.html This is an interesting read.
  18. Here is some more Santiago 2023 news, baseball/softball were to be dropped as well, but PASO forced them to keep the sports. So clearly they have their favourites.
  19. Thinking back Canada did a lot of things in 2010 to maximize home field advantage (not allowing access to the Whistler track for one). I sure hope there was no magic drug or w/e in 2010 used on Canadian athletes. I doubt it, but always possible.
  20. I for one did not like the addition of women's baseball as it unbalanced the baseball event for the men's (7 teams). Baseball/softball come as a package, and it should be left as is (drop men's softball)
  21. T20 is actually pretty fun to watch, in any case, I made a mistake. It was proposed as a demo sport. Hamilton 2026 also has proposed cricket, which is beyond me why Canada would propose a sport it has almost no chance to win.
  22. Sorry it was to be a demonstration event.
  23. It isn't. Chile is sort of good in the sport? I hope its shot down. Toronto 2015 proposed cricket (which would have been nice, as some of the smaller caribbean countries could have gotten teams), but that was rejected.
  24. He was born in Somalia, but everything to do with the song is Canadian lol. But it still counts!
