  1. via CBC 3 Canadian men made tennis history today by advancing together to the 4th round of a grand slam for the 1st time EVER
  2. Taekwondo poomsae got an increase in quotas for santiago 2023 to 40 (from 31) 157 total quotas so, 117 for Kyorgui (from 109). I think the additional 8 spots are for the winner of the Youth Pan American Games. Not 100% sure, but it makes sense.
  3. Some sad news: http://aroundtherings.com/site/A__100884/title__Badminton-Fed-President-Has-Parkinson's-Disease/292/Articles
  4. Wow Steve Nash is the new coach of the Nets!
  5. Prolly just sprint. If they didn't make the distinction. Its still a relatively new discipline in the Americas
  6. Very interesting: https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1097768/frederick-loomis-antigua-winter-olympics
  7. shh.. don't give them ideas lol
  8. Congrats to everyone, especially to those who took their time to host and organize the competition. Thank you! ---- On a side note, the reason why I chose is my parents are from there. Congrats to @OlympicIRL and on the win!
  9. I am surprised Gibraltar made it so far. Its not that good lol
  10. Does anyone know if there is a live tracker for Tokyo 2020 qualifications ?
  11. Is this the Norwegian secret?
  12. I really don't pay attention to ceremonies. I do watch them, but they are largely forgotten when the competition starts.
  13. Toronto, for obvious choices. Would be a perfect games (imo)!
  14. I personally try to watch all sports (minus rhythmic/artistic swimming) at least once live. I'll also try to watch every event a Canadian is competing in.
  15. This moment in 2006 was also memorable for me:
  16. Sadly I didn't see them in person; I was based at the MPC. I only saw ice events, no snow.
  17. SLC 2002 - Women's hockey gold; right after the USA players were using the Canadian flag as a rug to walk on Athens 2004 - Lori Ann Muenzer's gold in the sprint track event Turin 2006 - Chandra Crawford's surprise gold in the women's sprint cross-country. Beijing 2008 - Eric Lamaze winning gold in equestrian and overcoming a lot Vancouver 2010 - Literally the whole games London 2012- Andy Murrary's gold in tennis Sochi 2014 - Sleeping on the sofa and than waking up 2 mins right before Charles Hamelin won gold in the 1,500 m Rio 2016 - Penny Oleksiak's surprise gold in the 100m freestyle PyeongChang 2018 - Everything. I was there and these games were magical.
  18. Have heard the ISU is looking to propose team sprint into the program
  19. In theory cross-country can be held in the first week of the games. Remember the Youth Olympics had the cross-country solely composed of those qualified in distance events.
  20. That's an interesting tidbit, would be a good idea to replace it then (makes 0 sense to have two events that are supposed to be the same). They could also run the cross-country on the mountain biking course? Would that even be feasible? Otherwise, if the event needs a new venue, it would be DOA to the IOC.
  21. I am sure the IAAF wants separate events, but they know the IOC has a fetish for mixed events...
