  2. Can in M Individual and in W Individual enter 5 athletes in Beijing ? The rule about the extra-quota for the reigning olympic champion is still in place ? In this case in both individuals we can have 93 starters, in the sprints 92 (20x4 + 12x1) Interesting JT Boe & H. Oeberg are the only 2 active Olympic champions from the individual events in PC 2018 (the others already retired Dahlmeier, Fourcade, Peiffer and Kuzmina) So now when all this nerve-wracking qualification is finally over, let have a look thow it all ended M and will travel to Beijing with six men, and another seven countries will go with five. These will be and . , , , , , , , , and can field each four competitors. , and, with an exception, also host , earned two places through the IBU qualification points. Birkentals, Coltea, Guzik, Kiriyev, Lapshin and Wright will also travel to Beijing as sole representatives of their respective countries. Crnkovic remained the first under the line but his hope are not vompletely dead as there chances of refused quotas from previous NOCs (especially ) W Among women, and can count on six competitors, as well as , five will represent , , , , , and . Four athletes will have , , , , , , , , and . , and won two places from IBU qualification points. One for Vishnevskaya, Bendika, Ushkina, Kocergina, Lie, and 20-year-old Ukaleq Slettemark, who represents Greenland, has won a quota as well, but since the IOC does not recognize , so she will compete for . So we should have 20 classic relays for both men and women, and 21 in the Mixed Relay Sadly, Lithuania, Belgium and Poland can not field a Mixed Relay because they qualified 4 + 1 athletes, but , and host will have 4 + 2 competitors, so they can start also in the Mixed relay. Same based on the qualification points for with two women and two men qualified.

  21. it didn’t write clearly. Actually China get one IBU ranking quota by itself and then get one original host quota(1). In this scenario the total quotas is 105. Since China is not in top20 so IBU gave China two more additional quotas without affecting other NOCs. That’s the 1+2 and total 107 quotas.

  24. Just goes on to show how much IOC have done in winter sports. Now I seriously believe IOC should set aside tripartite quotas and have some unused quotas added to tripartite. I would love to see a cross country sprint event being held like 100m, preliminary heats followed by regular time trial ( with certain proportion of skieers qualifying for second stage) Initially tripartite may sound like joke to most but if a tripartite can win a medal in Tokyo Olympics then why not expect something similar may not be now or next games over a few decades.

  25. https://www.biathlonworld.com/news/2022-olympic-games-qualifying/4Mg7ZORJkfP5zKX82xGBIp IBU stated if China ended in top20, it's 105 total quotas. If China is out of top20, it's 107 total quotas to help China reach 4 quotas per gender and attend the relay. I also just surprisingly know it and searching the IBU document and news. It writes clearly in news but I don't find the lines in qualification document.

  32. With the first case of Omicron variant reported in Beijing, it's the most appropriate timing to finally announce that Olympic tickets only for invited personnels, mainly government and state-owned enterprise staff, and not for public. It's also reported that some Beijing staff got invitation but with low interest to accept and also committee promised that every match will be with spectators if it's designed so.

  38. If it’s like the last time, the chart will show the initial allocated quota. A green dot means that the allocated quota has been accepted as offered (meaning none were rejected), a yellow dot will show if more quotas have been allocated than there are athletes eligible for (I think it also may show if the number of quotas accepted by a nation was less than originally allocated (ie some were rejected)), a red dot should show of a nation has rejected all quotas.

  39. talking about the new sports arena (going to host men's ice hockey at the 2026 Olympics) and the area where it's going to be built... it's near the site where sky Italia have their offices and studios, named Rogoredo...and it's one of the most degraded and dangerous places in Milan (it's closed to a place named "il boschetto dei tossici" -the drug addicted little woods- the main spot for that kind of illegal activity in town)... this is a presentation of the project (unfortunately it's only in Italian)... https://blog.urbanfile.org/2021/09/07/milano-santa-giulia-presetto-il-progetto-scelto-per-la-nuova-arena/ San Siro instead is one of the most appreciated residential blocks in town (even if the locals hate the stadium because there's always too much traffic and noise also late at night when there are football events and especially rock concerts)...

  40. SLOVAK ROAD TO BEIJING 2022 - SLOVENSKÁ CESTA DO PEKINGU 2022 39th Qualified Athlete VIKTÓRIA ČERŇANSKÁ - BOBSLEIGH (W MONOBOB) Premiéra monobobov bude v Pekingu aj so slovenskou účasťou Strieborná medailistka z mládežnickej Olympiády Čerňanská rozšírila slovenskú výpravu v Pekingu Slovensko bude mať na ZOH prvýkrát v histórii zastúpenie v ženských boboch. Bez Vás by to nešlo. Netherlands should reject the quota which means that Israel would get the last spot. Croatia would be the first reserve.

  45. The women's list is kinda worrying Look at this : Hildebrand (enough said) ; Wiesensarter or Weidel would have been undying journewomen a few years back, now they almost have a WC regular status ; Hettich is probably the most promising of the lot, which speaks for itself ; Schneider and Kebinger are already 24 and their IBU Cup performances are not particularly thrilling. Of course Preuss is still recovering, Voigt not included, but Herrmann and Hinz are reaching the end of the path with downward trajectories.
