  1. and here is the updated OQR after today's event... 1. Russia 286 (Q) 2. South Korea 224 (Q) 3. France 208 (Q) 4. Italy 202 (Q) 5. Ukraine 180 (Q as the best European team outside the top 4 overall) 6. Hungary 173 7. China 172 (Q as the best Asian team outside the top 4 overall) 8. United States 171 (Q as the best Panamerican team outside the top 4 overall) 9. Japan 147 10. Poland 127 11. Spain 124 12. Germany 120 13. Canada 117 14. Tunisia 107 (Q as the best African team outside the top 4 overall) 15. Turkey 105 16. Azerbaijan 99 17. Venezuela 94 as Italy are only a bunch of chokers, despite the 29 point-margin they still have over Hungary, there's a good chance we're going to have some dramatic final events for what concerns the European continental spot, with Ukraine and Hungary probably taking over Italy before the end of the race... at that point, our only hope to qualify to the Games is the unsportsmanlike hope that Tunisia drop out of the top 16, which is actually quite possible, as TUR, AZE and VEN, if they are going to start all the remaining competitions, have very good chances to sum up a loto more points than TUN and eventually end up in front of them... we'll see...

Singapore 76 17. Chinese Taipei 74/75 18. Austria 73 19. Brazil 72 xx. Romania 57/58 not much to say in this case...the only big question is: "will at the end of race Egypt still be among the top 16?"... my guess is "no", which means that probably we're going to see 1 more good team (KOR rather than another European one) among the Olympic participants instead of the very weak Egyptians...

  12. They still have to achieve MQS at this event to be given a quota.
    1 point
  13. I think you have to achieve MQS in the competition you are winning the quota. achieving MQS in other competitions is only useful for shooters who want to start in another event. A quota place can only be obtained if the result achieved by the athlete or Mixed Team in the qualifying competition where the quota is obtained is equal to or higher than the MQS for that event.

  15. Only the 3 best World cup (3 in 2018/19 and 3 in 2019/20) results will count in Olympic ranking, so it isn't a problem to skip 1 or 2 world cup stages

  17. interesting results for the men's epee in terms of Olympic qualification... France are still on top and they will stay on top also at the end of today's event...moreover, they're going to increase their margin over their opponents, as they are already qualified to today's Gold Medal match... Italy, who are France's opponents in today's Final, are the biggest climbers of the week, jumping from 7th to a sure top 4 place at the end of the day... on the other side, Russia are the biggest losers, as they are scheduled to play for 13th or 14th place today and they will go down in the ranking from 4th to 7th (but they would still keep a qualifying spot as the best European team outside the top 4, as those teams are all from Europe)... here are the current projected rankings, before today's finals... France 255/267 Switzerland 200/202 Ukraine 187/191 Italy 188/200 China 174/176 South Korea 170/172 Russia 165/166 Japan 156/162 Hungary 140/141 United States 138/139 Kazakhstan 127/128 Denmark 122/123 ... Egypt 95/96 (still safe in the top 16)

  27. I was hoping ATOS would handle the results system as they were one of the first batch of sponsors for this year’s Games. But then, the organisers decided to rebid the contract for technical services in August. So we ended up with the same group from two years ago

  30. They are reliable (the Indonesian version is also quite popular too). Don't worry about the venues, I think they can't be worse than us in 2011, where all venues finished exactly a day before the opening

  32. Who claims Muslim religion should be about peace? That's wishful thinking. Christianity is several hundred years older than Islam. I'm sure you'd prefer 9/11 was masterminded by Christians and ISIS was a Christian organization but nope. Can't spin that fact. Liberals & atheists remain enraged they don't control the humanity like the Church does and that drives them nuts. You go out on the streets of Yemen and claim Islam is just a book and a perversion and you won't make it alive in like 20 seconds That will give you the ultimate peace test. Funny, an atheist is teaching people what "real Islam" or "real religion" in general is. The Mad Hatter would be proud of this logic

  38. Brazilians will apparently ship five horses to Moscow for next week's CDI3*. Transporting horses from Western Europe to Moscow is pretty much a logistical nightmare. Usually they end up being on Belarussian border for like 12+ hours alone. That's why you very rarely see non-ex-Soviets competing there, but indeed these are exceptional circumstances for Team Brazil...
