  1. Next Stop: California While there was a time when all roads led Rome, or so the saying goes, ours will intersect California. Most delegations will arrive in the "Golden State" via commercial airplanes, but the best way to experience our state is from the ground. There are many ways to travel in California. If you're feeling adventurous, you can take on the gorgeous and equally daunting Pacific Crest Trail. If you prefer the "chillaxed" vibes of the Pacific Ocean, you can cruise down one of our purpose built coastal bike paths. Of course, if a chill down your spine is more your speed, then you can ski down the pistes of one of our world class ski resorts. If you prefer your scenery barren and your sun blazing, why not rent an off-road vehicle and explore the deserts. Better yet, why not do one or more of those activities in a single day? We do advise tourists to "Dream Big" after all. While all of the above suggestions are great ways to experience California, you'll find our vast state difficult to navigate without a car. Public Roads, Highways, and Interstate Highways are the arteries of California. Our sprawling metro areas, notorious traffic, and long driving distances mean Californians spend a fair amount of their lives in a car. Many locals turn to music, rather it be radio or streaming, to pass the time. The "road trip" holds a sentimental value to many locals. Therefore, it is the perfect theme for this edition of the Totallympics Open International Song Contest. With that in mind, and a lull in activity due to the voting process, I believe it is time to breathe some life into this thread by introducing the logo and motto of this years' contest. Motto: "Eureka! I've Heard It!" - Our Greek users may be familiar with the meaning of "Eureka," which also serves as the state motto for California. According to Merriam-Webster, the word can mean: the triumph expressed upon discovery of something...or the literal translation from Greek: I have found (it). The second part of the motto references the second meaning. As jurors will be looking to for something special to give their douze points too, what better motto to underscore that attitude. Logo: Gasp! There is no musical instrument directly referenced in the logo this edition. Instead, the LOC, with the assistance of @vinipereira, has created an homage to the iconic California vehicle license plate. Of course, we've added a California Grizzly Bear for good measure as well. Official Announcement I would also like to remind all national juries that there is one week left to submit your votes.

  9. Brazil announced today that they have a men's road race quota, unexpectedly. Is that because of reallocation and is that next to the Pan American championships ticket? 99% sure Nicolas Sessler will get it for Brazil. Which is definitely cool for him (old mountainbike teammate of Bruna, so that's cool too), but kind of shows the flaw of the whole ranking stuff perfectly, since Vinicius Rangel is the only Brazilian actually riding at the top level.....but that leaves him with fewer points, because it's harder to get good results in World Tour races than in .1 races

  22. The slightly updated qualification system for cross-country skiing has been doing the rounds amongst athletes, but I can't find it online anywhere yet (like on FIS' website), any idea where to look? Don't have it at hand right now, but I believe the main thing in terms of eligibility for athletes is being under 300 (men) or under 350 (women) FIS points at the 2025 world championships, which I think is a change specifically for the women. There's been massive discussion about this system for a while now, especially about the eligibility only coming from a single event (like, you qualify at the world championships or not at all).

  36. Track racing is separate and based on countries too So Belgium are likely to qualify in the Madison but it isn't tied to Kopecky. They can choose who they want but no more than 4 can enter in the road race. If Kopecky is one (she will be), then it's on the basis of Belgium qualifying four in the road race, not anything to do with track.

two more medalists on the doping list https://ita.sport/sanction/asian-games-hangzhou/ one guy from Pakistan Kabaddi team (probably that only disqualifies him, not the whole team) but ... 63.5kg boxing gold medalist Baatarsukh, Chinzorig from Mongolia is here too. that's something ps: I really thank ITA for making a list. in past few editions it was impossible to have a full list of doping cheaters. and OCA never even cared to fix the medals. for example I know some guys in Kurash and Jujitsu tested positive in Jakarta 2018 but OCA never said anything about medal reallocation or even disqualification of those cheaters.

  45. F It only counts points to rankings. We don't know in which level will World Skate put these competitions. For Tokyo they had 5 scales, and now they just separated in Pro Tour and Worlds... I don't think they are going to change it, and I believe they will consider these events as Pro Tour. Meanwhile, I think they will schedule other events to complete their calendar. We don't have any other skateboarding events this year, and only two until the games seems so few.

  46. Well maybe they don’t wish to step back, but in terms of venue quality, 2018 CAC Games lacked standards, including the athletes village which had tin roofs in some of its buildings. Of course, people on the stands and atmosphere saved the games. I’m sensing Panam Sports put the emphasis on improving some of those facilities or else, move the Games to another location.
