It reminds me of when Europeans complain about baseball's inclusion because only certain countries bother with it. Yes, and fencing, show jumping and rhythmic gymnastics is practiced on the streets of every major metropolitan center outside your continent.... The Subcontinent has so few sporting bones to pick at, cricket is the least the IOC can provide. There's enough competition to justify a tournament and it will get millions of eyeballs. Now let's get back to mocking the truly ridiculous, like breaking and flag football.4 points

Look I don´t mind, 5-6 new added sports I really don´t mind at the end, the more the merrier as someone once said... The sole and only important question however still remains, how much it will affect the other disciplines, will be the quota limits removed, or specially increased for the new sports or the added new sports will even take their quotas from them/other disciplines removed/other events quotas reduced to minimum ? If it is A then Super, go ahead, no problem, welcome Cricket, Croquet, Flag-nofootplay-ball, lacrosse, squah etc... If B - Even better, I will be first to sign If C- Then NO. Enough with Bach and his "improvers youth/urban-agenda strategy" that ultimately only lead to destroy the entire Olympic value, built up for so long in the past3 points

No it´s not 1st April today. No worries. Anastasiya Kuzmina will compete at the European Championships in Osrblie, and according to her words, if she will feel it doable she is open to participate at the World Champs in Czechia. Remember our biathlon team is almost inexistant now, with Paja missing the season due pregnancy (and yet not decided if she will even return to the sport next year) and Ivona Fialková retired this summer... so any help for us would be more than appreciated https://www.olympic.sk/clanok/kuzminova-comeback-me-oznam2 points

the 10-team World Cup is a technical choice, they could have invited/qualified way more than that West Indies are not such an issue...they will split into the single Nations normally being together under the WI Flag (and there will be at least 4 or 5 very competitive teams resulting from that) overs and runs are just like in baseball, only with a different format...the basic principles are not so complicated (Baseball has even more heavily impacting obscure rules to know before you can properly understand the game, tbh) that's not true...WBSC has 183 full members and 8 provisional members Baseball is played all over the world, even if the African Nations are not competitive and Europe is definitely not a dominant force (still, there are more good baseball teams than cricket's in the Old Continent)2 points

Good luck in selling cricket in USA. You could hardly accept soccer which is the most popular sport in the world. And now you want cricket in Los Angeles? Some of these US fans would be more interested in hot dog eating competition than cricket IMO Cricket is fine for Commonwealth Games to celebrate centuries of colonialism but there's a reason why countries outside of the British rule never found any interest in that.2 points -

The bottom line is cricket only has like 5-6 countries that can play this sport at elite level. And West Indies wouldn't qualify for OG anyway. What's the point of having blow out games at this level? All this talk about diversity @ Olympics and they choose one of the least diverse sport there is. Other than former British Empire colonies this sport has gained zero traction across the world. Even baseball is more diverse despite the all too-predictable USA vs Japan WBC final almost each time.2 points -

Wrestling 2023 Discussion Thread
rafalgorka reacted to MHSN for a topic
UWW provisionally suspended multiple time World bronze medalist Mohammad Ali Geraei because of what happened in Belgrade during the World Championships. his brother M. Reza (World and Olympic Champion) was about to lose his lead in 1/8 final match against a Japanese wrestler until someone from the crowd (later revealed to be his brother) threw a bottle of water to the mat, stopped it for few minutes, giving his already-dead-brother some minutes to recover a bit and somehow survives the match 10-10 or 11-10. Reza lost his next match heavily (he was already dead) but came back the next day to win the bronze and the Olympic quota. that was a very shameful act and he deserves a long ban I would gladly give up that quota/medal. we were always proud of our wrestlers being fair and committed to sportsmanship1 point -

A) men: 61, 89, 102; women: 49, +81 and one between 71 or 81 B) given that are already out, I'd say no, almost every Nation has 3 or less weight classes in which they are good enough to qualify, maybe the among the women, but I doubt they will have more than 3 in the end1 point -

Something like one in five human lives in the Indian subcontinent, I think it’s pretty reasonable for to get one sport. Plenty of very Eurocentric and East-Asia centric sports in the Olympics already (and the addition of Lacrosse and Flag Football is *very* North America centric - and heck we even have a sport that is dominated by tiny Oceania!).1 point -
Totallympics Open International Song Contest 2023
maestro reacted to Olympian1010 for a topic
My idea for the team event... Mixed National Pairs: There would be 18 pairs of two nations. The format would be similair to Mixed Team Skeet/Trap. If a national jury awards points to your nation or your partner, you get a "hit." A perfect score would be 36, with eliminations beginning after the 19th jury votes. The pair with the lowest number of hits would be eliminated from the competition. In case of a tie, the team with the least number of "double hits" (where a jury gives points to both nations) is eliminated. If still tied, the team with the lowest total points is eliminated. This format could also be done in teams of three if preferred.1 point -

I don't think the federation is well regarded. Ultimate would have been a popular choice in my opinion. There's a professional league, and all the local universities have teams. It isn't hard to find local "pickup" games either. Venue requirements would be easy, since any football/soccer stadium could host. The sport has a lot going for it, but I do think an opportunity has been squandered here.1 point -

Although I would rather not see T20 cricket (or any form for that matter) on the Olympic program, as I find it incredibly boring, can’t deny that it does bring a whole lot of fans to the Olympics. Flag football being included as a potential sport is a complete joke though. So f*cking boring to watch, and the US would pretty much have both gold medals guaranteed. Squash finally getting it’s chance was long overdue, although doesn’t help that an idiot like Mostafa Asal is near the top of the men’s World Rankings - he doesn’t exactly embody the Olympic principle. Stoked that Softball/baseball will be featured as well, really enjoyed watching both at Tokyo 2020. Fingers crossed we can have a full strength tournament with all the top MLB players participating. Sad that Karate/Kickboxing/Ultimate won’t be at LA 2028, hoping to see them included in future editions. Anyone know why Ultimate wasn’t even shortlisted for inclusion? Over one hundred registered NFs, has gender equality, has youth appeal. Don’t know where the venue would be though. Is it due to the lack of viewership? And as for breaking, well bye1 point -
