  1. Which is a shame, since Finn sailors are significantly taller and heavier than those competing in Laser... Unless Laser changes design, they will be left with no option other than two person boats.
  2. True, but that's how IOC operates these days. "Women are not treated as equals in sailing" can make headlines, "Specific group of male sailors lose their Olympic event" never will.
  3. Again nobody going for the Netherlands? Guys, 46 medals don't come out of nowhere.
  4. Oh well. This history card does not work for me in sailing. We are not using cars designed in 1952 anymore.
  5. Well, since the qualifier got cancelled, it's only logical that they should accept those with just one start.
  6. Anyways, let's catch up once more with the ever-going battle between the establishment and anti-establishment... As a reminder, juries in blue ("Pro-establishment") are statistically most likely to award points to the Winner and Podium finishers, while juries in red ("Anti-establishment") are statistically least likely to do so... Groupings of nations in Europe are just fascinating. There are interesting examples on the other continents as well. (click to enlarge)
  7. Crazy fact. Since getting overthrown from their Committee chair, Denmark has awarded points to the winner only once... And it happened when they hosted (2019 Open). Coincidence? I think not. 2013 Open - 2017 Open - points to the Winner 9/9 times 2018 Annual - 2020 Open - points to the Winner 1/6 times
  8. Men's 52 kg - Men's 57 kg - Men's 63 kg - Men's 69 kg - Men's 75 kg - (tied) Women's 51 kg - Women's 57 kg - Women's 60 kg -
  9. It appears are actually tied in the Men's 57 kg. No idea what happens here.

  11. Thanks, so Panama should be definitely in, and there is nobody behind them.
  12. Apparently, nobody from Ukraine has MER right now, so there is a chance for Poland.
  13. I guess these are the Pan Am quotas... Men's 52 kg - + (global) Men's 57 kg - + Men's 63 kg - + Men's 69 kg - + Men's 75 kg - + Men's 81 kg - + Men's 91 kg - + Men's +91 kg - + Women's 51 kg - + Women's 57 kg - + Women's 60 kg - + Women's 69 kg - + Women's 75 kg - +
  14. Victory for Chelsea Edgehill today. The only thing possibly standing between her and the Tripartite place is the fact that she already received one, for the Youth Olympics. One can make a freeloading argument.
  15. AIBA will have a field day. Anyone has the rankings simulation?
  16. Meanwhile in Australia, Usman Khan & Kasheer will also be chasing their CCI4*-S MER at the Wallaby Hill Horse Trials this weekend.
  17. But that's the point. You can't judge the sports that you literally don't follow... ever. For example, anyone who says that softball is boring or that it has no action, clearly that person did not witness the 2018 World Championships Final. If you used to be a fan of something, or you followed it casually but regularly, than that's a whole new thing and your opinion (positive or negative) has some weight. Otherwise it's just dissing.
  18. Baseball/softball will probably be the only one which I'll watch. And not just before the Opening Ceremony.
  19. Kentucky Three-Day Event is a go, and it will be by far the biggest eventing competition to be staged since 2019. Entries are in record numbers, and for this year a side CCI4*-S event has been introduced. Drawn order for the CCI5*-L Drawn order for the CCI4*-S
  20. Astier Nicolas will be hard-pressed to even get selected this time.
  21. Apparently the EU will stop ordering AstraZeneca and J&J?
