  1. Candelaria Resano was awarded the quota. https://isasurf.org/event/paris-2024/
  2. I'm curious, is it not someone gets to take it again?
  3. Considering we already have so many athlete quotas I don't think our depth was deep enough to qualify 5-6 men or a 6th woman kayak athlete. It's a shame we couldn't get the men's C2 quota, but the C1 quota is a nice consolation prize.
  4. She currently holds the last (non-continental) qualification spot, edging out Ireland's Darragh by 33 points. I don't know if either of them (or Hungary's Sandorhazi) are competing this week so it'll come to end. Additionally, she needs to hope New Zealand's Shaunna Li doesn't break into the top 250 (currently 259) or else she will get the continental quota (though if she did, New Zealand may decline the quota). On the opposite side, Australia must select which two events between men's singles, women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles will get the continental quota, the others will be reallocated to the next highest ranked nation so even if Bulgaria gets passed she might get the quota if Australia doesn't choose women's singles.
  5. The Olympic quota will be decided today, correct? Unfortunately the result page isn't updating for me...
  6. Not exactly, they combined the ENP quotas and last chance quotas for the ILCA 6 and 7 events
  7. goes from almost being eliminated to winning the group. Saudi Arabia still advances in second. They will face or depending on their head to head result tomorrow.
  8. The first two quarterfinals have been decided v v Indonesia is the surprise of the tournament as they defeated Australia and Jordan.
  9. It's a bit of a mess. The way the document is written makes it seems that each criteria should be given priority over the following criteria, but at the same time the document doesn't explicitly say so (and usually they do) which means the quotas are awarded chronologically without any priority. In a perfect world I would say points should count at the World Cup, but I think it won't. I don't have the rankings available, would he qualify through the world cup if his points counted?
  10. Great day for China and India after a poor first day. North Korea also picks up three quotas, but still stings about losing the -50kg quota. They'll have a chance at the final world qualifier. So the overall women's quotas going into the final world qualifier are as follows - 6 - 4 - 4 - 3 - 3 - 3 - 1 Relative to 2020, Kazakhstan hasn't had much luck so far while Mongolia may go from having a full team to half the size.
  11. It's still unofficial, but it only makes 2020 that much better.
  12. Will another supersuit record drop? The 400m free might be the events to watch for both genders
  13. So going into the world qualifier the men's freestyle quotas for Asia are: - 5 - 4 - 3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 1 Currently no men's freestyle quotas for China and India. In 2020 they qualified in three events each.
  14. Not looking good for Australia. Also a 90+14 goal in the Qatar/Jordan game (btw it was 2-1). Was there a lot of stoppage or were the refs waiting for Qatar to score
  15. For nations like Bulgaria, sport investment in the 70s-90s was due to national pride and a rallying cry by the government to lower the amount of dissident despite not making the lives of the people much better. When a country decides they want to invest in infrastructure and making the lives of the people better then luxury things like sport investment takes a hit. Once luxury can be affordable then sport investment goes up. That's why you see countries that are actually developing tend to do poorly in sport rather than overcompensating and looking flashy.
  16. I'm also surprised, qualified athletes actually made the trip to Brazil. If there was a World Cup event in Brazil in the coming weeks it would be one thing, but now they need to fly back to Europe for events in May (or back to their home nation). Flying to South America is quite expensive. Seems like a waste of money considering they have two more World Cup events to practice before the Olympics.
  17. I think there are two more weeks before things are final. With that said, I don't think Sri Lanka (along with El Salvador and Myanmar) will miss out.
  18. You are correct. However, does this adds another complexity, does the 49er, 49erFX & Nacra17 have eligible nations? Going by this document they do, but they don't have athletes in the emerging nations program. Hopefully, World Sailing provides more clarity soon.
  19. I think there's only one quota in each event or has this changed?
  20. They are both decided at the same event. The last chance quotas takes priority, then the emerging nations quotas are decided.
  21. Yeah, unfortunately for these types of services, their model puts a lot of weight on the last world championships. For swimming so many people missed the 2024 edition (as expected) that the prediction is skewed. Since Australia depends on swimming for many of its medals, they are going to be severely underestimated in this model. GraceNote would be better off to either combine the times of the last two championships or even disregard 2024 and only use 2023.
