It's stupid that the 12 playoffs teams are selected with results of the UNL instead of the UEFA Euro qualifiers, which were played later.

I missed most of the match, for tiredness rather than sleep. I'd rather see home matches at 20:00 local.

Fails at the 2023 Pan American Games: In athletics, the women's 20 km walk was actually held over 17 km, so all times were annulled. https://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/67258758 - o - In taekwondo, the Giulia Sendra vs Sara Grippoli repechage match was suspended after the first round. Grippoli actually had already qualified for the bronze match. https://www.tycsports.com/polideportivo/el-insolito-motivo-que-adelanto-la-pelea-de-guzman-por-la-dorada-id542795.html - o - In rugby sevens, the Canadians scored an invalid try at the gold medal match against the United States, and the referee ignored the protests by the Americans. After a lineout, the Canadians attempted to form a maul, but no American player engaged, so they kept advancing until it was too late. They should have been penalized for obstruction.

On Friday I found that the closest metro station to La Pintana was 5 km away from it... I went by taxi. It didn't accept cards, and I had no pesos, so I overpaid in dollars. I returned on bus with no issues. The stadium is next to three car junkyards (like the Peter Capusotto meme). However the Carabineros kept the place safe. The Teros won both Saturday matches, though they had already missed the semifinals. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed it more than the field hockey.

Hi folks! Here I'm at Santiago de Chile. I've been to athletics, gymnastics and field hockey. Sadly I saw not a single Uruguayan competitor. The Estadio Nacional has a white coat of paint, but is otherwise in bad shape. The rhythmic gymnastics venue looks pretty, but accessibility is bad and there were roof leaks. The field hockey field is fine. However I missed a full quarter of Arg-Can trying to buy two drinks, as the venue had just two payment machines and one didn't work - it would have been much faster to walk 150m to the fan zone and return. After I got the drinks, the main grandstand was full. I walked to the north stands, where the net made it impossible to take photos. On top of that, a rather rude volunteer didn't let me take photos from the corner, despite being 5m above the field. Nothing unexpected I guess. Let's cross finger for tomorrow at La Pintana...

In rugby union, the Teros defeated Namibia 36-26 and was crushed by New Zealand's All Blacks 73-0. So they ranked fourth in the group, which was expected but not the desired goal.

Now Portugal, wow!

The Teros were amazing in the first half against Italy. In the second half the team just collapsed. Even if they lost two matches so far, they showed the world that they deserve to play tier 1 teams regularly.

Women's Handball Tournament at the Pan American Games 2023
NaBUru38 replied to Totallympics's topic in Handball
Last weekend, Uruguay won the repechage tournament at Santo Domingo. The venue was described as unfit for matches or training, with water leaks everywhere. USA quit their match against Uruguay when we were winning 12-2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF5Ats_1Hfg The Uruguayan federation has made no comments about the situation. -
I don't see any confirmation that it does.
