  1. It makes a lot of sense. It’s easier to market. It gives time for the world to recover from Covid-19 (and for a vaccine to be made). Plus, the world economy can recover a bit more before then. It creates an epic year in sport.
  2. I’m slowly moving the towards the “it won’t happen this year” camp, but obviously nothing is official until the IOC says so. I’m still very much in favor of 2022 over 2021.
  3. They raced during WW2?
  4. I’ll admit that MicroPlus is my least favorite company when it comes to visual look/data layout, but they’re really trying to win my over as my favorite data company. They have this awesome, very user friendly website: http://www.microplus.it/eventi/. Hopefully they’ll be able to help me I don’t know if there’s anything for you on here @MHSN, but I thought I’d tag you just in case. Same goes for any other users who collect results like us.
  5. Yep. I was just as shocked. I would have prefer to just to go back to CIV honestly...They hosted such a wonderful edition in 2017 . Or we could’ve just crossed the Congo River into Brazzaville, and that would have been much nicer too. By the way, it looks like Ontario may try to send a separate team from the Canadian one this year. Louisiana may also send a team as well...
  6. Which was a terrific competition by the way @heywoodu. The men’s competition has some close, competitive climbing. Definitely worth a watch if you have the time. World Games qualification has also met a similar fate to Olympic qualification at this point. What sucks is that Sport Climbing is one of the few sports that actually has a qualification method you can follow
  7. There’s a dangerous position to hold in the US. He’s right, but politically he’s wrong
  8. No matter what happens, if Covid-19 really starts to spread, we’re fucked. The government refuses to buy/build more of the needed medical equipment. They refuse to take action nationally. They won’t pass the relief bills in Congress because the GOP keeps trying to sneak in things like massive tax cuts for the wealthy. We still have a sizable amount of the population who doesn’t even believe the virus is real. It’s bad. However, things here in California aren’t terrible at the moment. I think it will get bad, but we’re managing without too much government support right now. I think the state has done a very good job of responding to this crisis, and I’m glad to live here. I think you overestimate our government a little bit, but maybe I’ll take some of your optimism because I could use it right now.
  9. If it’s going to happen to any first world country, it will be the US . We have the best medical supplies and resources in the world, yet we have the worst healthcare system. Last I heard, they will still only treat patients who can pay into healthcare, which means we’ll have thousands of homeless people in dire need of help, who will not be able to find any. There’s 30 million Americans (at least) without healthcare, and some of them are the Trump supporters who believe this virus is a hoax, and so won’t change their lives
  10. Which was a real shame since it was the first time they were a stand alone championships. I love watching the Blind Biathlon races, that laser system they use is awesome! I still think the sitting athletes should have to ski with the rifle though.
  11. Brazil isn’t a member of the I’OIF. They compete at the Lusophone Games (which haven’t been held for a few years).
  12. We also have the first countries that have declared their participation in the games:
  13. Basketball Qualification: Host: Previous Winner: Teams Qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics: EuroBasket 2019: (However these are all “observer members” of the I’OIF, so if only “full members” can qualify: ) Asia Cup 2019: N/A AmeriCup 2019: (If only “full members” can qualify: N/A) Afrobasket 2019: (if only “full members” can qualify, then we lose MOZ, and gain ) Afrobasket 2019 (Indian Ocean Region): N/A There will be a crapload of reallocation, but this the provisional qualification picture at the moment. Countries with the best chances at reallocation are:
  14. Qualification Document: https://www.jeux.francophonie.org/sites/default/files/public/wysiwyg/reglementation-web_0.pdf
  15. There’s no official website yet, but this is easily the best resource: https://www.jeux.francophonie.org/rd-congo-2021
  16. He would easily win here. So would the likes of AOC, Omar, etc.
  17. Kevin Durant has tested positive for the Coronavirus.
  18. I like the British approach. Hide the elderly, and at risk, and fucking accelerate that curve,
  19. I meant to check in on you @Wumo. How are you doing now?
  20. No Corona baby boom for you
  21. 2011 Military World Games, but those would been in PDF form for sure.
  22. Something is rotten in the jury of Denmark...
  23. Okay good. I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t a rule against such a thing.
  24. Just happened to pop up into my recommendations today. I can’t really control when that happens.
