  1. Some documents of note from OWL. Agenda 2020 Closing Report: https://library.olympic.org/default/digitalCollection/DigitalCollectionAttachmentDownloadHandler.ashx?parentDocumentId=472497&documentId=472506&skipWatermark=true&skipCopyright=true Agenda 2020+5 Recommendations: https://library.olympic.org/default/digitalCollection/DigitalCollectionAttachmentDownloadHandler.ashx?parentDocumentId=472511&documentId=472515&skipWatermark=true&skipCopyright=true
  2. Little article about a Jamaican chasing qualification in Alpine Skiing: https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2021/02/16/benjamin-alexander-jamaica-skier Don’t know what his FIS Points are, but it doesn’t sound like he’s close yet.
  3. At least the fairness of this qualification system, matches the general fairness of the judging in this sport
  4. The best thing to do would be start over with a new tournament in May/June. Those who had won matches can get byes in the early rounds as a form of compensation.
  5. Panam Sports Channel seems to have got a face-lift at some point Link: https://www.panamsportschannel.org It seems to be a subscription service now, though my free plan runs until 2100, so... It still misses in some areas in my opinion, but at least it looks pretty now
  6. @NearPup You seem to have brought the Canadian weather down with you It snowed throughout Texas yesterday. Temperatures are insanely low for the part of the US. Snow was also forecast for parts of Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, etc.
  7. The “World’s Longest Hockey Game” ends after 252 hours of continuous play. Fun article: https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2021/02/15/worlds-longest-hockey-game-raises-over-1-8m-for-cancer-research/
  8. Who’s ready for Agenda 2020+5!? https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1104318/olympic-agenda-20205
  9. Saw this making the rounds on Twitter. Essentially you can listen to radio stations by navigating using Google Earth. It’s pretty cool. Link: http://radio.garden
  10. Michael McDowell wins the Daytona 500. Race got underway after a lengthy delay. Multiple crashes, including one that took out most of the leaders on the final lap. 11 cars finish the race on the lead lap. Only 20 or so cars even finish the race at all.
  11. Nina Kraljic has a fantastic voice. I really love the cover of “Zajdi, Zajdi” she did. I would agree that her performance just seemed to lack energy, or just fell flat in some ways. It wasn’t a bad song in my opinion though. I actually don’t dislike Tick-Tock, but it sort falls under that standard Eurovision Europop song category. It has a fun beat, and like that she included some Croatian.
  12. 57 Senators vote to impeach Trump, which is short of the 2/3 majority needed to impeach a President. That means Trump is acquitted of the crimes he was accused of in the articles of impeachment. 7 Republicans joined the 50 Democrats in voting to impeach. From what I understand, that is the most bipartisan vote to impeach a US President in history.
  13. If no one new asks to go, I’d like to take a second try at it, if allowed.
  14. Probably still my favorite YOG Opening Ceremony. I might even put it in my top 10 winter multi-sports Opening Ceremonies.
  15. Jamaica might be able to get more than one athlete bobsleigh if the rankings work out in their favor. Moldova might be able to get a biathlete or two as well.
  16. Azerbaijan stands a good chance of qualification in the women’s single and men’s single. Monaco should be able to get a 4-man sled.
  17. Colombia just had an athlete go under 300 points at the U23 World Champs in Cross Country. If he can get his points under 300, they’ll have a cross country skier too!
  18. The U23 individual distance races took place today, below I’ve complied a list of all the nations who had an athlete go under 300 points, which means they’ve met the first of two conditions to earn a basic quota (the other requirement being FIS points under 300). Men: As fas as I can tell, all nations that started on the men’s side had an athlete go under 300 points Women: Only failed to go under 300 points on the women’s side.
  19. The U23 sprints took place yesterday, below I’ve complied a list of all the nations who had an athlete go under 300 points, which means they’ve met the first of two conditions to earn a basic quota (the other requirement being FIS points under 300). Men: Only failed to go under 300 points on the men’s side. Women: Only failed to go under 300 points on the women’s side.
