  1. There’s currently no other Thai skiers that meet the basic eligibility requirement (FIS Points under 300).
  2. At World Cup level? Yes. However, the Thailand Ski Association has been working to establish a grassroots roller ski program similar to that of Brazil. They did send a youth skier to the Winter Youth Olympics last year, and have a couple other youth skiers registered as “active” in the FIS system. However, it doesn’t seem like any roller ski races were held last year (probably do to Covid, and/or them being only interested in the Winter YOG). I don’t know if that program will continue, but the possibility is there. There’s nothing stopping them from trying to get one of those skiers eligible to fill a second quota should they earn one, but it doesn’t seem likely at the moment.
  3. Right, I was just trying to figure out what the allocation of quotas will look like after normal allocation. Reallocation is a whole other thing for now. One of my favorite parts of Olympic qualification is when the FIS publishes the list of quotas, and we get to watch “live” as countries accept/reject quotas and accept/reject reallocations
  4. Well, Jaque and Bruna will be in direct competition against those they are competing against for a second quota.
  5. Just to provide my interpretation to some questions I saw about qualification... @heywoodu Yes, I believe that if Brazil is 30th (or better) in the Nations Ranking, they will get an additional quota place on top of the basic quota earned by Jaque. I’ve also done some quota math, and if my calculations are correct, and the number of countries earning basic quotas doesn’t increase, this is the situation we’re looking at: Women - Quotas allocated through D.2 + Rounds 1-3 of D.3 + 10/11 quotas remains for allocation in Round 4 of D.3 (So in theory, 20 countries will have at least 4 skiers in Beijing, meaning 20 countries eligible for relay, and perhaps 30 or more eligible for team sprint) Men - Quotas allocated through D.2 + Rounds 1-2 of D.3 + a few more through Round 3 of D.3 (So in theory, 10 or a couple more countries will have at least 4 skiers in Beijing, meaning 10 or so countries eligible for relay, and perhaps 30 eligible for team sprint) In terms of the relay, the clause that lets teams use a biathlete might be rather important on the men’s side.
  6. ORF had a nice interview with him after the qualification race. He seems like a really nice guy. It was a fun interview.
  7. Just realized that hadn’t been posted to the thread, so here they are: Para Triathlon Hockey Badminton Beach Volleyball Para Powerlifting Cricket
  8. If I’m not mistaken, weightlifting has seen a reduction of quota for these Games as well.
  9. I’ve seen a few. Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Cricket, Hockey, Para Powerlifting, and Para Triathlon have all released early versions of theirs. From my understanding, under the most recent CGF Strategic Agenda, all sports should be shifting towards qualification systems.
  10. You say this like Trump didn’t order bombings though, and he did.
  11. The video for Germany is fun. I didn’t like the song at first, but it’s growing a little on me. The on-stage performance could be fun based off what they did for the music video.
  12. As someone living in California, I can verify that corruption and incompetence isn’t limited to one party or the other. It’s very present in both. That’s why I endorse neither.
  13. I guess it wasn’t clear that I was referring to 2032, apologies. Well, I’ve read what’s been reported about the possible bids. I’m near certain that all those countries had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the IOC. I’m not saying that the possibility of a better bid taking shaped isn’t possible; I’m just saying that from what I’ve seen, Brisbane’s bid is best one at the moment.
  14. Should they? Perhaps not. Are they the only country of those mentioned that has shown in interest in bidding, and provided a legitimate/realistic (relative) bid? Yes.
  15. Well, Lithuania could actually get one quota through the Nation’s Ranking, even though they’ll miss the opportunity to get a basic quota.
  16. Interestingly, Greece and Lithuania remain without a basic quota, but might get one based off their ranking.
  17. Countries who earned the basic quota in the sprint. Women: None of the nations who failed to go under 300 points in the 5km managed to go under 300 points in the sprint. The closest country was Serbia who had an athlete score 405.50 points. Men: None of the nations who failed to go under 300 points in the 10km managed to go under 300 points in the sprint.
  18. Technically, the Mixed Team Event in Cross Country replaces the Mixed Nordic Team Event. I liked Cross Country Cross though, so I’m a little bummed to see it gone.
