  1. I wish they'd sent it by SMS here. That way you'd get it and see it and get your regular phone notification, instead of the emergency message which makes your phone all of a sudden nearly blow up on full volume as if an air siren is blowing straight into your ear. The way they do it is exactly why I turned it off now, I wouldn't if they did it with less of an intrusive (especially in terms of sound) way.
  2. Damn near got a heart attack from the emergency message on my phone they suddenly sent to everyone ("keep 1,5m distance from each other, stay inside when having a cold or feeling sick") Usually (they test this system once every few months) I quickly swipe it away to make it stop, now I took the time to actually read the instructions of my phone on how to turn it off. Finally these messages are turned off, no more heart attacks
  3. Coming from NOS.nl, who would have thought. This whole world is starting to feel more apocalyptic by the day, come on.
  4. Nice quote from people who never watch biathlon "Johannes Thingnes who?" is one I hear a lot here from people who also never watch biathlon.
  5. I saw some videos of Venice, where the nature is doing fantastic at the moment. The water looks beautiful and is filled to the brim with fish and other animals (like birds) close to it, it's like nature is taking an incredibly long-awaited chance where people aren't busy ruining their living environment 24/7..
  6. Any worries like that where you (or other Croatian Totallympians, who I don't see post so often) live?
  7. From pretty early on in January (when like most people I didn't see it yet as a worldwide threat) I've been absolutely fascinated by it, and I still am. No avoiding anything here
  8. Like by reopening all the roads, so for example tens of thousands of tourists are coming from pretty hard-hit São Paulo to the cities and towns on the coast, like has happened from yesterday evening on.
  9. Yes, Nike is excellent in making people believe they care about important stuff....with the sole actual goal of making more money. It's rather obvious they're not doing it out of the good of their hearts, but it's smart marketing for sure
  10. Luckily Totallympics (and whatever other communities you're active in online) is still working to offer some distraction. Some dumb virus ain't gonna take Totallympians away or we'll all take our pitchforks and torches.
  11. Probably because there are no real numbers from North Korea, but they do know it's not 0 after Kim's comments.
  12. The same for mine then I guess? It could be problematic for me, since I'll be busy not watching Formula 1, IndyCar, cycling and World Superbikes.
  13. Right, I should have said 'a workable vaccine'.
  14. There are only 10 different choices about whether or not I'll go for Kimi and the answer is yes.
  15. Anyone who says "we found a vaccine" this fast is lying, that one's easy (but I didn't read anything where they actually claimed that). And it is perfectly possible to think at that early stage they couldn't prove human-to-human transmission (yet).
  16. Our Slovak charmer flirting with the few female users on here Let's get the tequila rolling
  17. Just to clarify in case someone misses the date: this is a tweet from the first half of January, when this was still in very early stages. Just to clear up that WHO is definitely not saying now that there is no human-to-human transmission, and neither is China.
  18. I would like to make an addition to my statement: dogs that don't bark (as in, don't have the ability to bark for whatever reason, so not those where the owners say "nah they don't bark" until they do) are absolutely welcome
  19. Yet somehow you stay drawn enough to keep posting about it
  20. I had to turn up my volume and click that button even though obviously I know the audio by now. But no, no dogs anywhere near me or else I'm out.
  21. Oh thank you, that's a lot better. I'll do without the pictured - or any - dog though
