  1. Giving something less points because you've already heard the artists is rather mediocre
  2. That's a bad joke you make once, and once only. Gubay
  3. I don't know if it's changed by now, but in Germany they didn't know a thing about this whole virus thing yet a week ago or so. The video of the candidates in Canada being told is pretty interesting. Imagine going in with only some relatively minor news about some virus in China that you might have heard, and now being told it's gone worldwide and half the world is coming to a halt.
  4. Broadcasting biathlon and alpine skiing in April, at least some good coming out of this mess
  5. Since food is actually a necessity, I'd hope that one instead of everyone using their barking machines as exceptions
  6. Thing is, this is a much more well known virus. SARS-CoV-2 was mostly a matter of "wtf is this?" apart from it being related to other coronaviruses.
  7. Wouldn't it be more likely for Froome to focus entirely on what might be the first Tour de France in two years?
  8. Yes, and if Yellowstone erupts tomorrow there might not even be people alive by 2021 anymore. Both are not so likely though.
  9. No geoblock here https://sport-tv.by/hokkey-ekstraliga-345
  10. No! It very much does not say so. It says they were tested, that is entirely different.
  11. I did read about two cases of human-to-human transmission. But 1) that's on Wikipedia, so you never know and 2) that's a rather rare situation if true at all, so they could be mistaken for human-to-human or be extremely rare exceptions.
  12. Good, I really hope that works well. If not, that is an absolute recipe for disaster and even war-like situations if people run out of the food they've got left at home..
  13. Again from China? The fuck are they doing there? Although let's first see how bad this is. It does sound quite a bit less threatening so far. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthohantavirus
  14. No Olympic athlete, but since I doubt non-Olympic athletes who die should have an own thread (or not be mentioned at all), here it is. Croatian former kickboxer Branko Cikatic has died. He was the very first winner of the prestigious and sadly defunct K-1 World Grand Prix, with an awesome knockout of Ernesto Hoost (who fell down to the floor stiff as a board) in the final. He also coached, among others, combat sports great Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic after his own active career. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branko_Cikatić
  15. Not only young athletes, Moradi seems like an excellent example of an athlete for who this could potentially be a gift from whichever heaven you believe in (putting aside qualification issues for a moment)
  16. Including things like supermarkets and food delivery like in one of the states mentioned here earlier?
  17. True, and I do get it from a financial perspective, but it's just gonna be extra weird to have the 2020 Olympic champions not take their titles in 2020 (and not because of doping bans ).
  18. @phelps @hckosice You guys still ok? If so, there is live ice hockey today, game 7 in the finals in Belarus! I know there is a stream, I'll try and find it when I'm at my laptop.
  19. What if it was postponed to October-November and there was an earthquake then?
  20. A not all-caps thread title as well, it's absolute anarchy. My first name is going to be Arno Kamminga. He might have already been a serious medal contender though, since he's been swimming incredibly fast in the breast stroke in the past few months. However, as he said himself, he has never made a big final yet and with another year to go, I think he's going for a medal in Tokyo
  21. Apparently that's already solved, everything will stay with 2020
  22. We all know by now: the 2020 Tokyo Olympics are going ahead, but they'll be held in 2021. It's a little confusing, but never mind, here we are. This sucks for athletes in their last planned year of their career, who will either have to postpone retirement and try and stay fit for another year or will miss out on their Olympic chance altogether - specifically sad for athletes who hadn't competed at Olympics yet, those who did at least already have an experience most athletes won't get. There's enough negativity though, so on to the brighter side: plenty of young athletes are good at the moment, but possibly not quite good enough yet to be considered serious medal contenders. So here we are, which athletes - who currently can't really be considered main favourites - do you think will benefit most and improve so much they are main favourites come Tokyo 2020, in 2021?
  23. Next year? No way, we've still got a full year of sports we can't watch ahead of us!
