  1. Of 355 towns/cities/administrative regions/municipalities, my little town has moved up from 28th to 24th in terms of number of cases per 100.000 inhabitants (22 cases in roughly 27k inhabitants). At least something we're scoring high in other than the number of votes for the Christian extremists Both are not very good
  2. Yeah but I mean, why a mass? What's the point of broadcasting a mass every day? I don't know what exactly will come itself, but being obligated to wear a face mask as soon as you leave your garden probably isn't one of the things. Even if it is, I barely have to leave it anyway and like I said, we've got a garden that's big enough to entertain ourselves relatively freely (without masks or whatever, since it's our private ground) and get some exercise in if needed (I could run back and forth for a good while, or we play badminton ). Of course it would be way harder if you don't have a garden and/or live in an appartment or something.
  3. 20 March: +534 cases, +30 deaths 21 March: +637 cases, +30 deaths 22 March: +573 cases, +43 deaths 23 March: +545 cases, +34 deaths Seems like we had reached some sort of a peak, although only a few days are of course not much of a sample to draw conclusions on.
  4. Oh damn, that is just the dumbest thing of all
  5. Right, it's official, no Olympics in 2020 and it's postponed to 2021. And so, @Sindo, could we just get it over with and at least change the 'Tokyo 2020', '2020 Summer Olympics' etc in thread titles to 2021? Let's be frontrunners for a change and do it on the day IOC announced it.
  6. Any decision will always be bad for some and good for others. Older athletes might have their chance go up in smoke, or at least be made harder, while younger athletes who are decent but not absolute elite right now might be serious medal contenders in a year.
  7. Why is broadcasting some religious thing every day something that has to be ordered by the state? If these measures would ever come here, I'm happy we have a pretty big garden where of course it's safe to walk around without masks or people touching you and stuff
  8. I really hope, of all things, it won't be postponed to October or something. Just give it up for this year and go for next year.
  9. There's zero problem in enjoying yourself, just don't go and do it in groups and keep some distance I'm going for a run tomorrow, but here it's not very difficult to move a meter or so out of the way when passing someone.
  10. That guy is so freaking stoned out of his mind.
  11. But we sort of did, a little. Indonesian/Malay (apparently it's sort of listed together?) is apparently on the 7th place of languages we 'loaned' words from I see some examples like ketjap, klamboe, loempia, kroepoek and some more https://historiek.net/top-50-nederlandse-woorden-maleis-indonesisch/66844/
  12. That is surprisingly similar indeed
  13. I very much don't @Griff88 is our Indonesian user
  14. But not everyone is. Plenty of business that can go on reasonably well without physically being present, while others simply have to shut down.
  15. Of course the organization of those smaller events care about it, maybe some local people who are somehow involved as well. But on the general stage, probably not even 0,1% of the people who are interested in the Olympics even know of the existence of obscure things like Lusophone of Francophone Games.
  16. Can we just sit back and think how freaking bizarre this all is by the way? Apart from some tiny local stuff, mostly in Africa and such, the entire world of sports has come to a crashing halt. God knows how many shops are being closed everywhere and so thousands and thousands of people are suddenly losing their jobs and their livelihoods. Huge amounts of people are suddenly discovering that working at home is actually quite possible, but also sometimes challenging. Dozens of countries (and more every day) - and yes, that includes some of the generally most 'free' countries there are - have placed bans of various strictness, sometimes even fines or worse, on non-family groups of more than two or three people walking together on the street! Absolutely packed highways are now largely empty, the biggest touristic hotspots are mostly deserted. Going to the supermarket is a thing to plan carefully, not to save yourself the effort of having to go too often, but to avoid getting among people too often, and when doing so, everyone is walking around each other as if it's some sort of worldwide game of 'don't touch me'. All of this in a non-war period. It's just bizarre.
  17. Paper on the doors of a GP's 'office'.
  18. This already looks as awful as it can be in a non-virus world
  19. I guess British people using their weird systems for everything from weight to distance means they can't understand what they mean when saying people have to stay 1,5 meters away from each other?
  20. Especially the U15 World School Games will be hit hard by this.
  21. Now let's hope the much feared second wave stays away..
  22. Yep, but somehow today he looks different. Even more incoherent as usual or something. It's like normally he knows he's talking nonsense, but now he barely even knows which sentences he is droning on.
  23. In case anyone is interested, Trump's briefing has started and so far - again - all he does is senseless rambling on about how it's almost over. Again he is not even able to formulate normal sentences. If your grandpa was talking this way, you'd be very worried.
