  1. Which is why Messi and C Ronaldo would have a chance....purely because football is the most known sport in the world and they're the best players (of the past decade, that is)
  2. Most people know his name, not his figure - they'd have no clue what he looks like.
  3. Not a fan of the dodging drug tests and fucking up the greatest moments of other people's careers because you're an incredibly sore loser and attacking referees because you're an incredibly sore loser. Even less of a fan when pulling the racism card every single freaking time something doesn't work out.
  4. I get that, but do we really need to have such a strict enforcement of all these things? Come on, if the host wants to open it, let the host open it. These kind of tight things are the annoying parts of Totallympics.
  5. Most people outside the USA know who James is but have zero idea other than "he plays basketball".
  6. If you feel a significant gap between those seasons, you don't follow enough sports, really
  7. The biggest part of the lost magic is the availability of information nowadays. It used to be awesome to follow the race with some obscure updates and some of the participants being gone for hours, wondering what on earth happened to them until suddenly they appeared out of the desert. It used to be sort of a 'mystery', following the race, that was cool. The few times I'm interested enough to watch, I don't generally do it on Eurosport anyway, but on Dutch RTL7 Or both, depending on what they're showing and what other plans I have
  8. Ah yeah, that problem I remember. On the other hand, their results pages are excellent, very clear and have nation codes instead of flags (so you can use Ctrl + F), a link is really more than enough instead of doing double work
  9. If this was true for me, I'd watch a whole lot less cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, skeleton and bobsleigh (to name just a few)
  10. I don't know what you're using, but here it still looks as good as the same as it has for years, with a few tiny, tiny changes.
  11. If anyone can be the first ever with six consecutive wins....
  12. Because it's cool if something like the Four Hills has it's own unique thing and it gets a whole lot less special when more and more events use it, especially all those rip-offs like RAW Air.
  13. Fifth consecutive Four Hills competition win for Kobayashi
  14. So far the program for Eurosport here shows a nightly half hour show with coverage. Of course Dakar is not really something one can easily show live, especially in the midst of all kinds of other sports, so that'd be fine. Is Dakar still really that big? At least here it's not even close anymore to it's heydays when, you know, the Dakar went for example to Dakar.
  15. Well he really can't keep playing the way he did in the first one or two sets against Labanauskas. Aspinall, Wright and Price all have a way better shot at taking him down if he does than Labanauskas did and he gave him a good run every now and then. For Wright the main question is whether or not he can keep his focus and energy up long enough now that the format is getting longer and longer, because the way he has played in several sets so far this tournament is absolutely unrivalled by anyone.
  16. Mathieu van der Poel closing a rather significant gap in the final kilometers of this year's Amstel Gold Race and taking the win in the very last meters after an incredibly long sprint Different kind of comeback, but still.
  17. Still very early days, but Labanauskas is giving a rather mediocre Van Gerwen quite a run for his money so far
  18. Did not expect you to explicitly say non-English Americans are no real Americans
  19. There's a difference between wanting something to be better and just entirely ignoring it. It's part of the World Cup, I want to know how the World Cup unfolds, and just checking results is even less fun.
  20. Well since it's the cross-country skiing World Cup, I'll watch it no matter which format they use
  21. Yeah even for FIS there seems to be absolutely no reason whatsoever to remove the pursuit and put a mass start in there. I mean, what on earth does it gain? It only makes for less excitement in terms of fighting for positions.
