  1. I've been waiting for close to 2,5 years but yeah Oh well, at least sports are getting underway left and right again now
  2. Oh, I thought in terms of insane results (although then the 1980s would have been better now that I think about it) due to the whole COVID-19 thing messing up the regular doping control system
  3. Hold on, 'never' is a bit much..
  4. I actually kind of like it, although my Pavlovian reaction to a change like this is also absolutely to pick up my torch and pitchfork. Tough situation.
  5. That is surprisingly impressive....for a junior no less
  6. I don't want to reveal too much, but I have indeed received a list of matches. I'm seeing a nice vacation in my near future!
  7. Now this is some actual big news after all that name change stuff. Yikes.
  8. I haven't looked at Totallympics since this morning, now I'm online again. I feel a change in the overall look. What's going on?
  9. They just need to restart the internet, no worries.
  10. Meh, I'd have given Dlagnev silver at least instead of bronze...considering he lost in the semi's against a proven doper and so isn't even supposed to be in anything less than silver-medal position in the first place.
  11. I mean, we knew it, but...World Cup final a week before Christmas 2022 is already weirder than 2020
  12. Luckily the one who is that much involved in my personal life wants to see most stuff as well Besides, people who wouldn't accept me turning my life around for two weeks for the Olympics aren't worth my time anyway, it's who I am - take it or leave it
  13. Aaaaand apparently he has now registered as 'Birthday Party'. Not unsurprisingly rumours about his mental state are getting rather strong.
  14. It's IOC and the Youth Olympics...I think it's a little early to say 'never'
  15. I thought it was in a month or so...I hadn't thought about it for a moment yet Plus I'm actually happy with it all, since I've started my first actual job in many years last month, it'd be nearly impossible to watch most if even anything of Tokyo 2020 (not gonna ask for two weeks off that soon). Now that it's next year, this should be no problem
  16. There's also not a real risk and because of that not the real....I don't know, 'punch' in the feeling when someone comes up with an incredible overtake (because if it goes wrong, there is absolutely no problem other than being out of the virtual race). I've seen epic sim racing battles this year that were fun, but in real life would have stopped my breath for a while out of pure excitement and tension.
  17. Luge has been preparing for this for decades.
  18. But can we at the very least call the athletes athletes? Instead of b-boys and b-girls? Fine, let's assume it is there to stay. And let's assume they want people who don't care now to get interested and let's just for the sake of argument assume a few regular sports fans will stick around for it. How are we supposed to take this sport serious when even in the 'highest level' it is literally just about 'boys' and 'girls' (in the official terminology!) and not at the very least about men and women?
  19. An acceptable alternative if the real thing isn't possible, is what I meant. Real deal is obviously a gazillion times better
  20. I wish I was joking! A winter with no or barely any biathlon, cross-country skiing (which is important for me especially this season), alpine skiing, luge, skeleton, bobsleigh, speed skating, shorttrack, ski cross, snowboard cross....might as well go hibernate for a while.
  21. So far the only virtual alternatives I've really found interesting enough were in motorsports
  22. No, but with a bit of luck you can see people's teeth being knocked out!
  23. Field hockey uses synthetic turf, so joke's on you. And yeah, I've never been a fan of most of the indoor shooting events, for me they have as much place in the Olympics as breakdancing. Archery is rather underestimated by people though.
  24. Awesome, means my weekends in the busiest time of winter will be free to enjoy all those cancelled winter sports
  25. This definitely suggests there is, assuming "Is it cool?" is not one of the criteria.
