  1. Huh what? Zonderland was in 2012, I really don't see how that falls outside of the decade in any way whatsoever Plus, it is just generally accepted the decades start at 0. The fifties didn't start in 1951, the eighties started in 1980, and so on.
  2. Best sports moments of the decade thread - where we can discuss anything from geopolitical history to IndyCar racing, as long as it has nothing to do with the best sports moments of the decade.
  3. Kim Huybrechts utterly destroyed 2018 world champion and number two seed Rob Cross and it wasn't even interesting What a tournament already.
  4. Are you sure about that? Could you count them out for me in a table?
  5. The "Life has no use anymore" on Dutch TV right now was the big one though. Could London police please guard the local bridges for a while?
  6. "I'm nothing but an amateur apparently. I'll hate myself, I'm disgusted by myself. It doesn't matter anymore, whatever I do after this doesn't matter anymore. Life has no use anymore." Jesus, he is in worse shape than ever.
  7. We have zero sentimental things in our tree, just the same balls every year
  8. And he did indeed lose. That's the end of a rather amazing career. Thanks RvB, literally everyone in the Netherlands earning their living with darts in one way or another, and everyone who likes darts, has him to thank for it. Without him, darts in the Netherlands would be what it is in most countries: barely existing.
  9. Ah, Raymond van Barneveld. Always good if you want to dampen those festive spirits
  10. 22.35 and still two matches to go, come on Time for the Barney Army
  11. Zoran Lerchbacher just missed 8 match darts in one leg
  12. I assume so, but the host was making a whole big deal of this being the last night in which he starts a world championships If he wins but doesn't do so with great play, he has a good chance to lose out in round two because if he isn't perfect, his eternal negativity takes over.
  13. The single most epic combination of commentary and performance and moment and everything
  14. Too bad when looking for today's youth results on the FIL website I got spoiled by the big headline about the men's race winner, but I don't know the women's winner yet, so I'll still go and watch that At least it means there's nothing tomorrow night, which is good for me
  15. Holy shit, that backhand assist for 6-6
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if Americans come and call Katie Ledecka's gold medals among the best sports moments of the decade even though they were arguably some of the most boring Olympic finals ever
  17. Ugh, thanks FIL....their messing up of the CET after midnight combined with the date made me think the World Cup in Whistler started today, but apparently it did yesterday..
  18. That's significantly less than what JTB will most likely miss
  19. The idiotic one of the two Dutch studio hosts (they switch out every session, more or less): "This is the last evening EVER in which Raymond van Barneveld....starts a world championships!"
  20. Noriaki Kasai's individual silver medal at the 2014 Olympics. The end.
  21. Awesome to see Jai Angsuthasawit of Thailand getting more and more involved in keirin finals at this level. Too bad he had a HARD crash in today's semi's, hitting the deck at 75+ km/h, but luckily being able to start the small final and finish second there. Saw the earlier crash as well, Awang went down pretty hard due to a dumb move by Kawabata. He did walk away though, somewhat bruised.
