Qualification Tracker

  1. That looks pretty awesome.
  2. I had no idea that was a thing in some places. I can only remember clubs fighting for 3rd instead of 4th because it gives some qualifying advantage for Europe or something, but not because of a medal
  3. Is a top-3 finish (but not 1st) in Denmark actually celebrated and counted as 'a medal'? I've never heard of a medal-like concept in a national football competition
  4. Depends, did you have to bring your passport and go through security checks?
  5. 'Proving' it is always relative of course, but I think we've got plenty of things that are enough to not make anyone doubt: several years of Facebook posts (yes, that counts), plenty of evidence of having gone to places and events together (like tickets and photos of tennis and volleyball tournaments), flight tickets, many, many photos in the Netherlands, Brazil and several countries where she's had competitions, even official results of the half marathon we ran together last year (including photos) where we finished in the same second. If that's not enough yet, they can easily look at online forums (like here) where it has been pretty clear for quite a while. Besides, plenty of people can provide backup if needed, ranging from (former) colleagues of mine to international biathletes (including from the World Cup), who are friends of her and have also met me (introduced as her boyfriend), and so on. They're really not going to spend a lot of time investigating a story where everything checks out (because it is actually true), just for the 0,001% chance of catching a fraud, whereas other people who - unlike us - really do try to fool them are often way easier to catch.
  6. I saw that post, thought "I hope nobody made an AIBA joke yet, quick!" and now I'm disappointed.
  7. Fingers crossed for everything going well, but thanks to a new set of rules introduced last week - specifically about people in a long-distance relationship with someone from outside the EU - a certain Brazilian Totallympian might be arriving here Tuesday morning next week (!) instead of somewhere at Christmas or even later The ticket is booked, we're now working on the letter that declares we do indeed have a relationship longer than three months (which we have to sign and brings serious legal trouble if they found out you're lying, which we obviously are not), which she'll have to show when entering the country. Again, fingers crossed. Five days ago the question was if we'd even see each other this year or only next year, now she has a ticket to arrive in less than a week Let us wait and hope
  8. I'm sure our Irish friend will find a way to make the matches more exciting than only "Japan beat Jamaica 19-10", while also making it so one doesn't need to scroll themselves an injured arm
  9. I believe there are no tapes, and even if there were, they'd be far too historically valuable to burn. Instead, since we know the destructive nature of humanity, they should be - if at all existent - kept safe in a high-security underground vault, the key of which should be thrown in the fiery depths of Mount Doom. Together with the tapes, out of security. If said tapes exist, that is. Which they don't.
  10. Agreed, what's a children's school game doing at the Olympics?
  11. He says it though, plenty of places where it's never been a requirement at all
  12. Even Trump uses 'socially distance' in a verb-like sense (as in, you socially distance, I socially distance, we socially distance). Now he's gone too far, even though he is apparently our favorite president!
  13. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your pre-press-conference snacks, but I am not a cook.
  14. Is that the one that has something with the ancient Romans in the name? Because that got me very interested
  15. Yes, the one who went from struggling for a top-100 finish in the Tour of I believe Poland (which was normal, considering he was nothing more than average) to nearly winning the Vuelta a few weeks later (and later actually winning, officially)
  16. Interesting, since it was specifically mentioned no members of the media would be allowed. I wonder who films it
  17. Androni and Gazprom have already pulled out of the upcoming Sibiu Tour, which is supposed to be one of the first somewhat decent races (there's also the Tour of Poland which won't be televised in any way since media won't be allowed, so yeah). Meanwhile the Hamburg Cyclassics, moved from August to October, has now been cancelled.
  18. Four artists (as in, having heard of them, in one case it's only because of one single song - in another case I can't even name a song) and two songs for me, when looking at the list in the OP.
  19. I have decided that there are several songs which I like better than several other songs. I hope it's not too much of a spoiler.
  20. No, the team actually ignored him and this is the exact reason. He sent multiple requests, but they didn't answer him. Haas and Magnussen on the other hand were instructed to pit by their team.
