  1. I still have a handful of episodes to watch, but yeah
  2. Difference is they weren't really there yet in his time. There are plenty nowadays, and riders who don't do much more than finishing 150th in most GT stages get contracts left and right.
  3. Small talk about Demare's line, but after some replays it was pretty clear nothing was really wrong there, he was simply the best by a big margin once again.
  4. Weird sprint, it was as if Ballerini first and then Demare were the only ones who really wanted to sprint
  5. Demare beating everyone with two hands on his back, so to speak.
  6. Very interesting read about/from former cyclist Robbie Hunter, about how (mainly black) Africans are simply worked against in the pro peloton. Sure, teams can't just solve visa problems and so on, but they're barely even giving them a chance. Two of the main young Eritreans who are definitely not unknown among cycling fans - Henok Mulubrhan and Biniam Ghirmay - are some of the most blatant examples. If you're an Italian or Spanish or Dutch or Belgian C-level rider: here you go, World Tour contract. If you're an Eritrean rider wiping the floor with those riders: .... (not even an answer from most teams) https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/transfer-mechanics-the-struggles-facing-african-riders-trying-to-break-into-the-worldtour/ I wish every team who wore these kind of masks during the Tour de France puts their money where their mask-covered mouth is and signs themselves a talented young African or two. There's more than enough of them who only need to learn some peloton skills and such.
  7. Yeah Trump was just nominated by some loony in the parliament I believe, never a serious contender Luckily it didn't go to him or Greta T or Vlad P or something, I'm not unhappy with the WFP. It's not that uncommon for an organization to get the prize and I do think it's a good one - thought I'd have preferred a lesser-known individual, as it was in the past two years (including two of them sharing the prize).
  8. [hide] Women's Singles - Final October 10th, 2020 Date & Time (GMT +2) Player 1 P1 P2 Player 2 October 10th, 15:00, 2020 I. Swiatek 2 0 S. Kenin [4] [/hide]
  9. It's been a while, but finally Paris-Roubaix is going to be a wet, muddy, dirty, gross, heroic affair Oh...
  10. Nearly 6000 cases here today, I believe that's a record. Not that weird considering the rules are way more loose than in March and especially April. Numbers of deaths are getting nowhere near the records. Personally I'm still very happy working at home is such an easy thing in my job, it quite literally makes no difference if I'm working at home or at the office and so working at home is the way better option. I hope this stays on after the whole thing passes
  11. Wow that pure domination of Demare in this sprint I mean, I've seen clear sprint wins, but this was just humiliating for everyone else
  12. Almeida stopping on the side of the road to change his radio stuff and McNulty hitting him straight in the back. That could have ended up worse.
  13. Slowmotion pictures of Sagan slowing down and taking a foot off the pedal to take a leak. Right, great TV
  14. I'm still wondering whether the current situation (thousands of cases per day here, but rarely more than 10-15 deaths) is worse than that in March/April (fewer cases, but way more deaths and IC units getting full). With way more testing than back then, of course there's going to be way more positive tests as well, including for people with only minor symptoms or barely anything at all.
  15. To be entirely fair to the IOC, why would they need to have some opinion on an execution in Iran? Not saying it's good what happened and there's plenty of organizations who can and do support their concern with these kind of things, but why would the IOC be one of them in this case and not in every execution case, because he happened to wrestle in his youth or something (as I think our Iranian friend here explained)?
  16. And dude, don't just underline Jasna, it's worth more than that: a special mention to be back after 4 years!
  17. [hide] Men's Singles - Semifinals October 9th, 2020 4 Players, 2 Players will qualify for the Final Date & Time (GMT +2) Player 1 P1 P2 Player 2 October 9th 2020 [1] N. Djokovic 3 1 S. Tsitsipas [5] October 9th 2020 [12] D. Schwartzman 3 2 R. Nadal [2] [/hide]
  18. Finish in Matera today, I absolutely recommend anyone who isn't familiar with that to Google it, especially if you're interested in general history it is incredibly interesting
  19. "What does this performance mean to you?" Ah, marketing people and their original questions
  20. Getting both world records inside two months, what a phenom
  21. Commentators talking as if these lights are an entirely new thing
  22. And just for some context: 26:43 was the fastest time ran in the entire past decade, nearly half a minute behind Bekele's WR....ran in 2011, by Bekele.
