    Because they haven't played well at all for the past few years (sure, they got a Euro gold), and got below even that level in Tokyo. World rankings don't mean much and the World Cup was already three years ago and was more of a unexpectedly good result than anything else.

    First time since 1984 the Dutch men don't make the semis in the Olympics. And it was not at all undeserved, they were by far not good enough.

    And last but not least, after months/years of speculation about which two distances she'll run at the Olympics and which one of the three she's registered for she will drop, she has made her decision and will run the 5000m and 1500m.
