  1. Might give that a try tomorrow, thanks! I might also just keep with live-timing only, that is nerve-wracking enough.
  2. Oh trust me, I know. Heart attack city here today (which we seem to have survived) and tomorrow due to this. Which our fellow Totallympian - in the last week of Olympic qualifying - doesn't yet know and I am very much trying to keep it that way until after tomorrow's race.
  3. I wonder if there are more details to this, like whether or not she was part of some (national?) team, if she herself privately decided to go there, and so on.
  4. Too bad, geoblocked. Langrenn - NRK TV Would have liked to watch the women's qualifying.
  5. Are there more details on this, other than just "she visited it"? As in, was that part of a certain team, was it a private decision to go there, and so on? Those may be important nuances, especially for young athletes.
  6. I am so confused at the whole thing Can someone give a short summary of what is the actual issue, and what would have happened (as in, who would have qualified) if those Canadians who withdrew did start?
  7. Let's not act as if these things never happen before. Serbia's cross-country skiing drama a week before the Olympic qualifying for Beijing ended: FIS | Cross-Country Results - Zlatibor (SRB) 2021/2022 Drndic with a DNF, despite being - on paper at least - the best athlete. She didn't just 'not finish', she stepped out barely 50 meters before the finish, because if finishing, the points for her competitor would have been better due to the way points are calculated. Ended up with lots and lots of yelling and screaming and fighting and cursing, DNS the next day and in the end Serbia sent none of them. This is not a shit move by Canada, this is a fault of the system at most.
  8. Those are the national junior championships, national championships are in Steinkjer, starting tomorrow: FIS | Steinkjer (NOR) - Event Details - Cross-Country
  9. Nice for them, but also kind of too bad they pick the exact same two as last time. Would have been nice to see Regina Martinez for example (although I'm not sure that would have been logistically possible, depending on how they're going to do the flag bearer thing in the first place).
  10. Queen Diggins I can hardly imagine there are many athletes who are both harder working and friendlier than her. Absolute pinnacle of sports.
  11. What a truly beautiful victory for Simpson-Larsen after an absolutely horrible holiday period (she was in Lavaze where Sivert Bakken died, her boyfriend Johan-Olav Botn was the one who found him).
  12. And there we go, Trump has said Americans are going to play a big role in the Venezuelan oil industry. Oh my, the surprise.
  13. That sounds way more likely than crazy, to be honest. Possibly some deal where Maduro leaves or is handed over and Trump gets the oil he is after?
  14. It is mostly funny to see people think anything other than claiming another country's oil is the/a reason for this
  15. This morning Trump has started stopping another war, this time the one in Venezuela, by throwing bombs on the capital.
  16. As, unfortunately, one could expect, Tim Prins has been royally fucked over by the commission, who did indeed decide to go for Marcel Bosker because of the team pursuit and kick Prins out of his spot. I don't wish ill on the riders who will do the team pursuit, it's not their fault, but for the commission/federation I hope they'll be like 7th there.
  17. Yeah, I was sarcastic about that idea, what I described is of course already in existence as the regular individual sprint
  18. Just caught up with yesterday, this must easily be the most bizarrely unfair World Cup race format I have ever seen, wow How drunk was whoever thought of this? More fair would be to make the top-X go to some sort of next round. Maybe 5k is too long for that, so do like 1.4km, and make it heats of like 6 athletes, with a sort of knock out rounds.
  19. Collective training? What's that? Van de Bunt - Team IKO Huizinga - Team Essent Bergsma - Team Zaanlander Bosker - Team Reggeborgh Good luck with whatever combination it's going to be
  20. This would actually just be fun as well. Bergsma was always a problem in a team with the unmeasurable egos of Sven Kramer and those around him, but with Huizinga and especially a young lad like Van de Bunt, it really shouldn't be much of an issue.
  21. Ah, so you're basically a Dutch speed skating fan, Dutch speed skating TV pundit, Dutch speed skater or Dutch federation member?
  22. Naomi Verkerk misses out on the Olympics by one spot. Tim Prins will likely miss out on the Olympics by 0,005 seconds. Marrit Fledderus misses out on the Olympics with a double false start. Jutta Leerdam makes the Olympics in one distance, but not her favourite (which she'll likely skate anyway) due to an own fault and Joy Beune makes the Olympics in two events but not in her favourite one (due to not being fast enough, fair and square). The media, all the time: Leerdam and Beune are victims of this system! Puhlease, just stop it
