  2. time for the Youth Continental Championships... first to come to a close, it's the African tournament. to follow, a complete round up of what happened last week in Accra.
  3. yes, she was 12th in the 10m Air Rifle and 14th in the 50m 3-Position Rifle
  5. thanks! it's always interesting reading your posts, always explaining a lot of things it's impossible to find in our media that might not be manipulated by the socalled "establishment" like in other places, but they're always full of propaganda / nonsense in one direction or another, according to what's their momentarily convenience p.s. I never get bored if / when I can learn something

  8. @MHSN here in Italy some news about Iman Madhavi have started to hit the headlines (actually, only of a sports website like OA for now, but I'm sure also the general newspapers sooner or later will write a few words about him). here are a few words (in Italian, of course) about his story: https://www.oasport.it/2023/02/lotta-la-storia-di-iman-madhavi-perseguitato-in-iran-accolto-in-italia-insegue-le-olimpiadi-nella-categoria-di-chamizo/?refresh_ce do you know something more than that? (in particular, a different point of view than the usual "western narrative" our media can't live without nowadays).
  9. races have started again. final block should be scheduled not before Noon CET, maybe even later.
  10. great! but I'd wait until news on the situation of the secondary ice arena and the speedskating track makes it clear on what's gonna happen here. in any case, Opening Ceremony, Short Track, Figure Skating and Hockey are already sure to be held here. the only sport still in the bubble is speedskating, as I wrote. I think there won't be any official statement soon, gotta wait until the end of the year, I fear.

  19. time for a new World Cup stage for the Rifle & Pistol specialists... this week we are in Cairo
  20. well, the Polish guys have done well all season long. the really surprising result is Tsubaki's gold. anything else is just among the range of the predictable achievements. unnecessary events? why? are there many other events in Winter Sports showing depth at the top level? if alpine and cross events in snowboard and freestyle have to go, then what about the actual freestyle disciplines (5 Nations at the start for the Aerials this morning) or Nordic Combined/Ski Jumping (4/5 Nations competing for the top 20 places in each event when we're lucky, not more than 10/12 in total at the start) or Luge or (for what concerns the top tier nations) the same Cross-Country Skiing?
  21. no, it's not the case...he has dominated the 2021 season and, when not injured, the 2022 season as well... he already collected European and World Indoor titles, outdoor European and Olympic gold medals and he recorded both Indoor and Outdoor European records. I guess he's already done more than many big names among the sprint specialists of the past...comparing him to the Belarussian is an insult. right now he's not in very good shape (still, 6.56 is a clocking that most sprinters in the world can only dream about). adding another European Indoor title or not, it's not going to change anything for him, we'll see what he he's going to do in the outdoor season...
  22. now the World Cup takes a break. from February 28th through March 5th, in fact, it's time for the 2023 World Championships in Boi / Taull (Pyrenèe region).
