  1. Wouldn't that open a tiny possibility of Canada failing to qualify for the Worlds? I don't think WCF can survive that.
  2. Mongolia is now less than 200k ahead of Taiwan. Sadly they may miss out. In another battle, Romania's lead over France is now only 25k.
  3. That's 9th championship medal for Kirsten Wild... And that's only counting the ones she won in Apeldoorn. If that doesn't tell you that Apeldoorn has had more than its fair share...
  4. Same with Croatian and Slovenian. Slovenians though allegedly understand us more easily than we understand them. Also Croatian with Serbian, Bosnian, Montenegrin... But these languages are very similar obviously.
  5. That's interesting... Only Wikipedia seems to point out that the equestriam events were held in Karuizawa? Equestrian articles mainly suggest that the venue was Baji Koen, which will also play host in 2020.
  6. Yeah, I don't think IOC could change a venue just like that. Marathons are supposed to be a big deal, especially in Japan. It is/was scheduled to be the first marathon with a finish in the Olympic stadium since 2008.
  7. She competes in jumping. She made a couple of Spanish teams over the years (including 2014 WEG), so she probably stands an outside chance of being selected next year. I believe she married a Mexican rider recently.
  8. Paola Amilibia switched allegiance to .
  9. Apparently the CCI4*-S competition in Chile turned out to be a bit of a massacre... This rather complicates things for Brazil. So much so that any chance of securing minimum requirements in South American events is already gone.
  10. Mongolians were lazy for a day, and now Taiwan got really close to them...
  11. Jitendarjit Singh Ahluwalia is back apparently. Moscow 1980 Olympian, who randomly attempted to make a comeback for Rio 2016. And just like before Rio, he will start his qualification campaign only weeks before the qualification period ends. I don't get it. But, nevertheless, he should stand an outside chance.
  12. It has been confirmed that Srbić suffered a partial tendon rupture on his wrist. It's not great, but it could have been worse apparently.
  13. This hosted 2014 European Championships... It's not even 250 m lap. It's 333.33 m.
  14. Apeldoorn apparently has permanent subscription to track cycling championships. Boring.
  15. Yeah, but that just means that one athlete can earn one individual quota for their NOC. If you compare it to the dressage system... Here it specifically says "maximum one (1) per NOC". It doesn't say so in eventing.
  16. One rider is qualified (Marcelo Tosi). Two more have CCI4*-S requirements, but not CCI4*-L yet (Nilson Moreira and Carlos Parro)... But looks like they will be mainly aiming to get the requirements at South American events. Several riders started at CCI4*-S event in Chile this weekend, however results are still unavailable. Further South American qualifying events are scheduled for next month in Argentina and Brazil... As for dressage, as much as four Brazilian riders are on the entry list for CDI Le Mans this week. Looks like they should be able to keep all of their team places, if things go to plan.
  17. Nations can qualify two individuals in eventing.
  18. Considering the amount he raised, it does not look promising at all.
  19. Update on China and Thailand chasing minimum requirements... China Two riders are qualified (Alex Hua Tian, Liang Ruiji) Three further riders can start in CCI4*-L events (Sun Huadong, Bianba Ciren, Bao Yingfeng) Thailand One riders is qualified (Weerapat Pitakanonda) Two further riders can start in CCI4*-L events (Arinadtha Chavatanont, Korntawat Samran) Now it's becoming fairly easy to follow. Riders attempting to reach requirements at CCI4*-L level will only have one more opportunity (either in Montelibretti or Pratoni, they can not start in both). For Thailand it's do-or-die. There is no room for failure anymore. For China it looks easier. Technically, only one of the three candidates needs to meet the requirements. Crazier things have happened though.
  20. Indeed. I planned to, but eventually forgot to point out that Stockholm 1956 saw the only previous Egyptian Olympic jumping team. Congratulations.
  21. And also Qatar. Morocco missed an epic chance sadly.
