  1. Oh right, I forgot the Americans for the hurdles. Still, she is in the ballpark with 53.44
  2. How many athletics golds will the Netherlands take in Tokyo? 4-5?
  3. It's basically a given that men's Nordic combined will be dropped to 30 starters so to make room for the women...
  4. What? This is basically like having a triathlon with eliminations after swimming and cycling.
  5. North Macedonia would be the logical Tripartite pick, but what can you do...
  6. Curious how would team orders fit into dual moguls (except athletes possibly being told to lose intentionally should they face a team mate).
  7. Agreed, but I still think the line has to be drawn somewhere. Especially since the programs in more traditional sports (alpine skiing, nordic skiing, speed skating) have been pretty stagnant, when compared to the massive expansion of the freestyle disciplines...
  8. Dual moguls would be a total nonsense... It would be like doubling up diving events, only to have one half decided using the traditional format, and the other half using the ah-mazing bracket format. This redundancy of Winter events has to stop. Now.
  9. Who knows, maybe the Americans are the favorites now? Their 'robots' routine for the free is pretty hyped. But then again, when was the last time in this sport someone climbed two positions within one competition? Never?
  10. Yes. Road to Tokyo shows that have moved Tortu from 40th qualified athlete to 44th.
  11. It is possible, yes. However, only one total universality place can be now awarded per nation (as opposed to one per gender in 2016). Plus, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the universality spots will be awarded based on rankings. This should prevent nations from stacking up 100 m events (to an extent).
  12. They changed it. Now all universality spots have to count within the set quota (with priority over non-direct qualifiers).
  13. RIP 100 m non-direct qualifiers.
  14. Day 1 results.. https://results.equestrian-hub.com/show/2623/dressage/34453 Lyle and Peters solidify their status as frontrunners, while Schut-Kery builds a strong case for herself. Wagman and LaGoy-Weltz will need to perform out of their skin on Day 2 to have any chance.
  15. Duh. Two Grand Finals in about a month ain't bad for any artist.
  16. Unbelieveable! They screwed Mongolia big time. They are treating this North Korean withdrawal as something crazy and unprecedented, while in reality it just calls for simple a reallocation according to the qualification document.
  17. Zaza, Truppa or Maroni.
  18. Well, not strictly horses, but the ownerships do have nationalities. And for the Olympics specially, the horses' ownerships must be the same as that of their riders. But this is only for the FEI database - the real ownerships are tracked elsewhere and are commonly tweaked to make some horse-rider partnerships eligible. What is funny in this case is that Tatiana Miloserdova is both a rider and an owner of her horse... But in one database she is listed as Italian, and in another as Russian, and therefore ineligible. She may have forgot to change the horse's nationality, but some appeal seems possible here. It's not her fault that FEI databases are not connected.
  19. Thanks! I kind of remember something like this from when karate got added, but when I checked the Tokyo website recently, I thought they changed it and opted for single bracket tournaments. https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/en/schedule/karate-schedule#20210807_KTE
  20. For me, the competition format is the only real problem. Single bracket tournaments with 10 athletes? That's a joke right there. Should have been two pools of five athletes each.
  21. Ranteš je imao jednu jedinu priliku (Svjetsko 2019.), a nju je ispustio. Sve ostalo je bilo protiv njega. Nikada ne bi upao preko renkinga, jer on ne donosi ništa malim državama s jednim predstavnikom.
  22. Hend Zaza qualified more than a year ago.
  23. Meanwhile, the American dressage trials (not 100% binding like in T&F) start today. Here is an excellent preview.
