  1. Of course. You can do whatever you want with athletes you qualified, provided that you qualified enough. Poland did the same thing in women's kayaking in 2012.
  2. I guess it is. But I don't know if the Latvian women will be obligated to hold purses on Opening ceremony.
  3. Latvia And I guess these are for the Opening ceremony.
  4. Solomon Islands will host 2023 Pacific Games. Apparently, they surprisingly won hosting rights by a single vote. Tahiti was considered to be a strong favourite.
  5. This is like some funny story from 1900 or 1904 Olympics. Meanwhile, Lončar made semfinals today in men's 200m backstroke. Who knows, maybe with some luck we could have as much as 4 swimmers in Rio. Samardžić, Radić, Todorović and Lončar.
  6. Good news for Palau, looks like they received a wild card in wrestling. http://www.islandtimes.us/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1111:temengil-to-compete-in-the-rio-2016-olympic-games&catid=3:sports-news Also Honduras in women's -48 freestyle... http://www.elheraldo.hn/deportes/polideportivo/960842-466/luchadora-hondure%C3%B1a-recibe-wild-card-para-asistir-a-los-juegos-ol%C3%ADmpicos-de And also Haiti in men's -74 freestyle... I don't get why some federations are so slow with updating the list of wild card athletes.
  7. Who are the provisional qualifiers for women's 4x200?
  8. Yes and no. Romania technically qualified only in C2, but you will be allowed to compete in C1 1000 (and C1 200), provided that athlete competing there is also competing in C2.
  9. ISSF is being a bit secretive about the exact number, but there are around 30 unused quotas for small nations + unqualified nations. If I'm not mistaken they are giving the priority to unqualified nations with the highest number of MQS reached.
  10. There are reallocations for unqualified nations in shooting who have MQS.
  11. Yes, there were so many close finishes today. Austrians probably had the biggest shocker in women's K2. Moldova's near miss in C2 was sad.
  12. Men's K1 200 - Men's K1 1000 - Men's K2 200 - Men's K2 1000 - Men's C1 200 - Men's C1 1000 - Men's C2 1000 - Women's K1 200 - Women's K1 500 - Women's K2 500 -
  13. Wild cards have been assigned. Marcelo Aguirre and Heba Allejji.
  14. Syria is a nice choice. Paraguay has also been confirmed for men's singles. Here's the full article from ITTF. http://ittf.com/_front_page/ittf_full_story1.asp?ID=44347&Category=General&Competition_ID=&
  15. It's not possible to win quotas in both K1 200 and K1 500 at the continental regattas (even with different athletes). Quota in shorter distance (K1 200) will go to the next best nation, Portugal. Also, Hungary has exceeded the maximum number of athletes in men's kayak (8). They have 9 athletes and they will probably return the K1 200 quota, what would be good news for Latvia. Btw, Georgia qualified in canoeing for the first time in their history.
  16. I can do the swapping with the USA. Also, I propose that "1st break" is renamed to "Coffee break" and that "3rd break" is renamed to "Tea break".
  17. Considering how many Sammarinese swimmers are competing here, this is probably their main selection event for Rio.
  18. Well, you never know. They did pretty much the same thing with their field hockey teams in 2012. Both teams qualified through Africans, both quotas were declined and then both qualified on final QTs.
  19. I guess it's no surprise that people are not happy with the outcome... From Wikipedia.
  20. Thailand What an idiotic defeat. It's quite incredible that Japan is unable to easily qualify even though they are pretty much controlling FIVB.
  21. There are around 30 unused quotas in shooting. Only a handful of them will go to Tripartite nations (depending on who applied), and most of the remaining quotas will go to unqualified nations who have MQS. Belgium, Lithuania and Ireland for example received a reallocated quota in 2012, and they are most certainly not Tripartite nations.
  22. They can still receive a reallocated quota (which can go to any unqualified nation in shooting).
  23. Barbados, Israel and Jordan are now confirmed newcomers in triathlon.
