  1. Well, you never know. They did pretty much the same thing with their field hockey teams in 2012. Both teams qualified through Africans, both quotas were declined and then both qualified on final QTs.
  2. I guess it's no surprise that people are not happy with the outcome... From Wikipedia.
  3. Thailand What an idiotic defeat. It's quite incredible that Japan is unable to easily qualify even though they are pretty much controlling FIVB.
  4. There are around 30 unused quotas in shooting. Only a handful of them will go to Tripartite nations (depending on who applied), and most of the remaining quotas will go to unqualified nations who have MQS. Belgium, Lithuania and Ireland for example received a reallocated quota in 2012, and they are most certainly not Tripartite nations.
  5. They can still receive a reallocated quota (which can go to any unqualified nation in shooting).
  6. Barbados, Israel and Jordan are now confirmed newcomers in triathlon.
  7. Triathlon quotas are officially confirmed http://www.triathlon.org/rankings Jordan was given the tripartite quota in men's event.
  8. Shouldn't also Azerbaijan be on this list?
  9. 10. Bernadette Pujals has been officially named for Olympics. http://www.eurodressage.com/equestrian/2016/05/17/bernadette-pujals-officially-nominated-2016-olympic-games This means that there will be no reallocated quota for Argentina, since Pujals has decided to go to Rio despite initial second thoughts. This also means that Mexico will not miss equestrian events.
  11. Fine by me, wouldn't be nice to lose a nation (and lose Germany for the first time ever). Unless he didn't have time to listen all songs properly, but seems like that's not the case.
  12. We also had an article claiming that Malawi received 2 wild cards in taekwondo... I don't think I'll update the first post until ISSF gives the final word.
  13. Germany will not use it. Who is next?
  14. Anyone has women's 4x100m qualification ranking?
  15. Thanks to Paraguayan Olympic Committee for sharing, now we know how tripartite quota confirmation looks like. According to this, Paraguay also got an invitation in men's table tennis (unsurprisingly) http://www.lanacion.com.py/2016/05/10/marcelo-aguirre-con-una-invitacion-especial-estara-en-los-jjo-de-rio/
  16. So, qualification system says that South African quota will (if refused) go to DR Congo (next best from Africa). Unused men's quota from Oceania will go to the highest ranked unqualified nation in men's event, and that should be Uzbekistan in -100kg.
  17. I think South African unused quota will go to African nation in -66 (because that's continental quota and there are more African nations). Unused Oceanian quota and potentially unused tripartite quotas will go to overall rankings.
  18. Well, these doesn't seem to be confirmed by ISSF.
