  1. We can finally officially remove Haiti as their athlete has qualified in men's 110m hurdles. http://road-to-rio.com/
  2. Is it going to be some interactive draw, à la OlympicIRL style?
  3. Does this mean that draw will also be postponed by 1 day (from Wednesday to Thursday)?
  4. Canadian and Maltese jury members were online today, so hopefully those two are safe.
  5. Women's RS:X quotas should go to Turkey and Sweden then. It's probably likely that Sweden will not accept this reallocation, so Argentina is the next best (meaning that Peru would get it as the next best South American nation).
  6. It would be VERY disappointing if Samoa doesn't win the last Rio QT. Especially since someone like Canada/Russia are the main opponents..
  7. Slovenska Republika or something similar is the name of Slovakia in Slovak language. That's even more similar name to Slovenia than Slovakia.
  8. Today only a bit of dressage (Odense and Wiesbaden), and maybe diving Europeans if I have time.
  9. If that is from Wikipedia then it is wrong. Mauritius is missing in women's, there is NO way that Turkey qualified a woman, and there are probably more mistakes... ITU will publish the list tomorrow so what's the rush.
  10. Spoiler! Now we know that one of the countries that is yet to vote (and only one) received points from the Netherlands.
  11. Australian dressage selection standings after 1/2 selection events... Kristy Oatley (Du Soleil) - 69.520% Sue Hearn (Remmington) - 68.820% Kelly Layne (Udon) - 67.880% Mary Hanna (Boogie Woogie) - 67.540% Mary Hanna (Umbro) - 66.920% Maree Tomkinson (Diamantina) - 66.100% Brett Parbery (Weltmieser) - 65.140% Lyndal Oatley (Sandro Boy) withdrew from Odense because of an injury so in theory her first selection score should be 66.066% (the average of the lowest three scores). Sue Hearn, who was pretty much the biggest outsider, pulled a big upset. Tomkinson and Parbery are most probably out of contention now.
  12. Looks like we might not see Hiroshi Hoketsu becoming the oldest ever Olympian in Rio. He still hasn't competed in an Olympic qualification position and there is only about a month left to reach MQS (2 scores of 64% in Grand Prix). He appeared on start lists in both Mannheim two weeks ago and Odense this week, but he didn't compete in both at the end.
  13. Well, media here is really bad in being realistic about sport. All that "we are punching above our weight" attitude is completely wrong. What about Ireland, Denmark? Slovenia? Lithuania, Estonia? Hungary? They all have much more structured team than us (ESPECIALLY in individuals sports) and very similar resources... Apart from judo and tennis, we will also have pretty much the worst case in table tennis and rowing (and swimming). We might actually have a chance to get another quota in judo thanks to reallocation. One Oceanian quota will be unused, and probably not all 20 tripartite quotas will be used (in 2012 17/20 tripartites were used). But on the other hand, luck also hasn't been at our side during this qualifications.
  14. Looks like we share this disaster. We also don't make Rio after competing at every Olympics since 1992 in slalom.
  15. Do you know how much Bram Som gets paid for being a pacemaker? If I'm not mistaken he has been a pacemaker for quite some time.
  16. There are 3 World Cups left. But I think even the top-12 result will be hard to get unfortunately.
  17. Hermans: "Am I dreaming?" Dutch selectors: "Yes, you are"
  18. Ivan Kljaković-Gašpić selected for Rio in Finn. Though, the main story is that we now have a confirmation that having Olympic trials might not be a good idea when our team is concerned. http://sport.hrt.hr/334892/kljakovic-gaspic-u-riju-borba-za-olimpijske-igre-ostavila-gorki-okus They both finished quite low in overall standings, I wouldn't be surprised if they just looked at each other the whole regatta and ignored everyone else (even though this was World Championships technically).
  19. Netherlands usually has some internal standards like "Top 10 finish at 2015 World Championships" or "Top 5 finish at 2016 European Championships". Maybe heywoodu knows something. I know that he was actually happy because some Dutch fencer failed to qualify at QT few weeks ago. She didn't have selection criteria so it would be sad to see her quota getting refused..
  20. I have a feeling that Netherlands will quite likely refuse this quota. They have their standards usually That leaves quota to Sweden, who else has its standards (and I doubt they are open to accepting reallocations). We might as well see Hungary getting it in the end.
  21. Lol, looks like choosing sleep over following this was a great choice. So, canoeing becomes the 3rd sport in which we didn't qualify after competing in London. And this is also the first time ever that we are not going to compete in canoeing. Just shows how rapidly our sport is declining. Having some medal chances doesn't say much about sport, this is a better reference. All of our medal chances are older athletes, and who will replace them? No one, because no one will qualify.
