  1. So because of too much climbing on road course he chose MOUNTAIN biking instead? Wow, I don't get that. Anyway, his chance for medal in mountain bike is zero. No way he can keep up with the likes of Schurter and Absalon.
  2. Is google translate messing with me or what? According to this article on Slovak Olympic Committee website, Sagan will compete ONLY in mountain bike. While their mountain bike athlete Martin Haring will compete on road.
  3. At first I thought this was Ireland, because of the colors.
  4. Start book for the American championships is out. I guess we can expect quite a battle for the men's quotas, considering that no American nation is qualified except Colombia. On the other hand, in women's division pretty much all the big nations are already qualified (COL, VEN, MEX, DOM, USA, ECU). Canada and Chile should safely qualify, while the battle for the last two spots will probably be between Peru, Puerto Rico and Cuba.
  5. Why use 0.5? Makes more sense, "will at least 3 nations win their first ever Olympic medal" and so on.
  6. BMX quotas are out. It's Indonesia and Thailand indeed.
  7. South Africa officially declined their women's continental quota. Egyptian girl is qualified now. Revised list of qualifiers can be found here http://www.fig-gymnastics.com/site/competition/view?id=6405

  9. Long list for the German dressage team has been announced, based on the results of German championships. Also, team for Nations Cup in Aachen is Werth, Broring-Sprehe, Schneider and Rothenberger, they are the real frontrunners for the selection. Someone else would really have to excel in the coming weeks to change that. We also had a few shockers at the championships as the World no. 1 Kristina Broring-Sprehe lost her Grand Prix Special title to Isabell Werth and Grand Prix Freestyle title to Dorothee Schneider.
  10. You forgot Slovakia, who also won hosting rights after the winner declined.
  11. Winner gets the hosting rights (unless they don't want to). And, for your information, Mexico hosted one contest.
  12. Didn't have time to follow the closing ceremony completly, but great work! I will catch the last part later on.
  13. Only if ITF relaxes some requirements I guess. But I don't really think that could happen. And I doubt that Karlović would play even if he was able to. He dropped out of both Beijing 2008 and London 2012 because of some alleged injuries.
  14. I don't really get why such a fuss about Semenya all of a sudden. It's not like she hasn't been around for 7 years on this level.
  15. Looks like Kristina is the face of TISC 2016. Appearing on each day.
  16. Probably the best bet outside of Bangadesh is Swazi runner Ndzinisa who clocked 11.35 over 100m last weekend. Also, Macedonia might have a chance in men's open water swimming. Though, their swimmer seems to be better at even longer distances, but some lucky continental quota might be in cards.
  17. These are the first three: Valentina Moscatt (ITA) - 832 points in women's -48 Ilse Heylen (BEL) - 831 points in women's -52 Liu Yang (CHN) - 795 points in women's -57 Uzbekistan received quota in men's -100kg, because Oceania didn't use one of the men's quota. On the other hand, during possible tripartite reallocation both men's and women's rankings are being looked.
  18. Yes, potentially unused tripartite quotas will be reallocated in the same way.
  19. Well it's not invitational spot. Reallocation rules say that unused quotas are going to the highest ranked athlete not already qualified (respecting max 1 per NOC per event rule). When you click at "men" ranking here you'll see that Uzbekistani guy in -100kg was the highest ranked athlete. https://www.judobase.org/#/wrl/m/ogq
