  1. Haha. If they would have completed the race they would have put up a time around the bronze medal position. Also winning the B final gets you just as many points as placing fifth in the A
  2. Well the women just made up for it with a 2:52!!! Almost ten seconds ahead of everyone else so far.
  3. But we still have a chance to place top six in points if we do well the next three world cups no?
  4. Well we are blessed that the next world cup is in Calgary next weekend. Huge advantage
  5. But luckily the point system is forgiving. Germany who finished first got 40 points and Canada got 25 points. So only 15 points behind. If Canada can win the B group next week at home in Calgary, get themselves into the A for the final two world cups and place top six they should qualify.
  6. Yeah they were sitting in first by three seconds until they fell.
  7. Yes personal best and finished second in the free skate ahead of the Georgians who placed fourth at worlds.
  8. Anyone have the tea on Connor Howe? He won silver at last years worlds and virtually last in both events this weekend.
  9. And she was sitting in second with one lap to go in the 1500m but she was just too tired from racing the 500m an hour earlier. Still achieved a personal best of 1:54.55 though.
  10. Beatrice Lamarche with another huge personal best in the 500 with a 37.30! sitting in fourth with three pairs left
  11. but havent most people had covid?
  12. Just very curious what happened to Graeme Fish. He set the world record five years ago on this ice. Now he is 11 seconds back of his 5k time
  13. Yes our team is looking incredibly strong.
  14. Yeah and 2 500's coming up this weekend
  15. yeah I was going to ask about that. Three seconds back. Must have been something technical we aren't aware of. But if Laurent was able to skate that race without interference, easily a silver or bronze behind Stolz.
  16. yeah completely ran into him.
  17. Laurent Dubreil had a big one second lead in the men's 1000m but the japanese skater completely cut him off, scrubbed a lot of his speed and they continued the race. He ended up only 0.01 seconds into the lead after that.
  18. Beatrice Lamarche with a huge 1:12.77 and into first place!!!
  19. Auger-Aliassime beats Zverev 6-4, 7-6 (4) to advance to the ATP semifinals!
  20. Valerie Maltais just won silver in the women's 3000m at the first world cup stop in Salt Lake City in 3:56.53!!! Isabelle Weidemann not far back in fifth in 3:57.84. Ivanie Blondin finishes in 8th with 3:59.48 and young talent Laura Hall in 13th at 4:02.97.
  21. No shocker that LA 2028 scheduled the women's 800m free final the same day as Mcintosh's best event the 200 fly final. They want Ledecky winning that 800. Dirty play. But she has now said she will shift to the 200 free now to still accomplish her goal of winning five golds. This may actually benefit our relay in the end.
