Qualification Tracker

Test

Everything posted by Surlympics

  1. especially in the mass start
  2. Oh he said he was dealing with it before this event, thank goodness. So he probably just needed to do the qualification to get some points. And to get that kind of score dealing with that is wild
  3. When did it happen because he posted the fourth fastest score in qualifying? Did he get injured while posting a score like that
  4. Interesting was Jenning Deboo's reaction to Jordan Stolz beating his track record on his ice. He looked visibly pissed off and shook his head like there was nothing he could to do to beat Stolz.
  5. Sixth place for Laurent Dubreuil in the men's 500m! He looked much better today. Wasn't far off from bronze.
  6. There is hope for our men's team pursuit then still haha!
  7. But on a positive note. Let’s focus on the good today because when you do it multiplies. Ivanie set a crazy time winning bronze in the women’s 1500m, Val Grenier won GS bronze, Marion Thenault won silver in the opening aerials, Brendan McKay won gold in halfpipe against a stacked field, and Naomi Urness is a young bright star in freestyle skiing winning another medal. So if the universe took away a skimo qualification for an alpine skiing medal and another great freestyle skier for Canada I’ll take it. Canada always excels in an Olympic year. I see us having our best Winter Olympics ever in terms of total medals won (30+) and I still see Piper and Paul on that Olympic podium in the ice dance despite the scandalous judging. These Olympics are where we will outshine the Americans haha
  8. Well professional sports is a Multi-Billion dollar industry so they will always want an American team to win. Just picture it like watching a movie. The script has already been written and the winners predetermined. So just have that mindset going in and watch it for the drama and see the athletes as actors haha. There is a reason why no Canadian NHL team or the Jays haven't won since the early 90s.
  9. And I just found out the French team had a fall and still managed to beat them by 8 points. Where Piper and Paul had two flawless programs. Also the fact that for being flawless the judges have scored them about eight points below what they were giving them last year. What changed?
  10. I was wondering what happened here. And how the newly formed pair of Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry from France so easily leap frogged Gilles and Poirier with again only six months of training (seems to be a theme today) compared to their 14 years together.
  11. Laurent Dubreuil is on the start list for the men's 500m tomorrow! I was wondering if he was going to switch gears and focus on just one event since he is getting older. And having Stolz a virtual lock on the 1000m already.
  12. because it doesn't make sense that a team with an athlete who just took up the sport six months ago dominated the worlds very best like that haha
  13. Well apparently the Americans just started the sport only six months ago!
  14. And its a bronze!!!
  15. Val Grenier Wins a medal in women's giant slalom at Mount Tremblant, Quebec!! Sitting in first with two skiers left!
  16. Well he beat the gold medallist , silver medallist and fourth place finisher, so close enough haha
  17. That time is unbelievable
  18. And he's back in top form. He beat all of last years worlds medallists.
  19. And she landed a huge new trick for the first time on her third jump but had a wobble at the end. They said if she landed it clean it would have easily been first place.
  20. Bronze for Naomi Urness in women's big air!
  21. Aurelie Moisan and Arnaud Gaudet move onto the finals in the Parallel Giant Slalom. Aurelie had the fourth fastest first run!
  22. Beatrice Lamarche continues her strong breakout season finishing 6th in the womens 1000m!
