    An excellent result for him. Best field result for a GB athlete this games surely. Kerr and hopefully Hudson - Smith might be only GB men better than him. Better than any GB man in the field in Tokyo as well.

    Doping as a whole seems to help women more. The Chinese in the 1990’s in both swimming and Athletics. Eastern European doped women dominated sports in the 1980’s more than men.

    The medal target is 50-70 plus top 5. Over 60 would be a good performance and pretty much on track with the last three games. The gold drop off is an issue throigh. Being beaten by Australia will surely raise some eyebrows in particular because of their size,
