    It has been. Through the French sometimes booing when things don’t go their way is a bit disappointing.

    At least the USA are barely in the men’s apparatus finals. Through China will have a point to prove as well

    But we did drop from a relatively comfortable third in qualifying. I was optimistic about getting a bronze here. Let’s hope for a swimming medal or two this evening.

    Might it make us fourth and not fifth? Just showed also a medal was there for the taking but they didn’t quite deliver on the promise qualifying showed. A failure in my eyes.

    No chance. Sadly we have gone backwards in this event - we would have medalled in Rio and Tokyo if Russia had been banned.

    It’s shame the near total absence of Russians and Belarusians probably won’t give us many if any extra medals across the games. At previous games we have had many fourths behind a Russian medalist.

    Are those as expected - I.e that the two that are medal contenders are but the other two were never contenders?

    Think that Vault performance has ended hopes.

    Gymnastics was going ok but a weaker performance on vault has likely ended medal hopes vs USA or Ukraine.
