  1. Bettina Hoy looked really amazing yesterday, i think she will replace Schrade. Klimke, Hoy, Auffarth and Jung would be an amazing Team.
  2. In the end i prefer men winning the medals in womens 800m over doped women winning the medals in womens 800m, so i will cheer for Semenya, Niyonsaba and Wambui. The hypocrisy of some fans is just shocking. IAAF cant fight Doping on the one side and allow men to compete against women on the other side, its obvious that women will just dope more to have even a small Chance. I think we can all agree that no clean woman can beat a men in womens 800m.
  3. Dont panic just now, you should pray for him instead. I am positive that everything will be alright for him and that he will win a medal in Rio. Some might say that he was stupid to continue jumping after he won, but i think no one should be punished for being ambitious. Lets hope that he will be fit in time for Rio and jump 2.40m there.
  4. Didnt know that Leyva was out ... He has a realistic chance for a medal on high bar and parallel bars, so its a very good decision to nominate him, i dont think that Orozco couldve won a medal.
  5. I am surprised to see Mollema and Yates so high in the overall ranking, do they have a chance for the podium? I think it was unfair and not according to the rules to give Froome the same time as Porte and the other guys. It was very unfortunate for him, but he shouldve waited for his team car to arrive, instead of running up the hill without his bike. I still remember Ullrich waiting for Armstrong after his crash, the good old times ...
  6. Now we only need Serena out, then Kerber will be favorite. Many of her strongest opponents (Sharapova, Azarenka, Halep) are already out, Serena, Muguruza and Bencic might be her strongest opponents at the moment, but she has a good chance for a medal. What a crazy year on the WTA tour, Sharapova banned, Azarenka pregnant and Kerber won the australian open ...
  7. Some thoughts: 1) Where did the following athletes come from this year? Khaladovich, Ghazal (+ Taplin and Papachristou) Especially Khaladovich is just embarrassing. I guess political leaders in Belarus realized that Arzamasova (where is she anyway?) wont win a medal in Rio, so they decided to try their luck in womens javelin throw. I pray to god that she wont steal a medal in Rio. 2) Womens 800m will be the most boring event in Rio with those 3 guys running far ahead of everyone else, come on, they dont even wear the same shorts as the other athletes, why? 3) Adams seems to be back, it will be very tight between her, Schwanitz and Gong in Rio. 4) Stefanidi is currently in a great shape, i think she will battle for gold with Silva and Suhr. I hope that the russian girls wont be allowed to compete in Rio. If you allow Isinbaeva to compete, then you could as well allow all russians to compete, considering that Isinbaeva is something like the press spokeswoman of the russian officials. I am absolutely not surprised that McCartney was far off her best outside of some small competitions in her home country. 5) Tamberi looks fantastic at the moment, i think he will win at least a medal and the other medals will go to Kynard and Bondarenko. 6) Kiprop will need to work very hard if he wants to win that olympic gold this time. I think 3 african runners will still win the medals in Rio, only Centrowitz might challenge them. 7) Bartoletta was surprisingly slow, will she be able to get in top shape until Rio? I dont think that the US will win a medal in this event in Rio. 8) I have only one wish for all athletics events in Rio: Rojas has to win the gold! She and Ibarguen are clearly superior to everyone else, the fight for bronze could be pretty open. I pray to god that Spain wont naturalize her like they always do. The secret in high/triple jump seems to be that you have to be fast, skinny and big. Jamaica came out of nowhere in many events, suddenly they have medal contenders in mens shot put, mens long jump, womens triple jump and maybe also mens discus throw. 9) I feel really sad for Cuba that they lost Ortega, Spain did absolutely nothing for his development and i hope that they wont get away with this shit in the future. Everyone who changes nationality should be banned for at least 2 years, then countries like Turkey might think twice before naturalizing athletes.
  8. German women's team: Goalkeepers: Almuth Schult (VfL Wolfsburg), Laura Benkarth (SC Freiburg) Defenders: Josephine Henning (FC Arsenal), Saskia Bartusiak (1.FFC Frankfurt), Leonie Mayer (Bayern München), Annike Krahn (Bayer Leverkusen), Tabea Kemme (Turbine Potsdam), Babett Peter (VfL Wolfsburg) Midfielders: Simone Laudehr (Bayern München), Melanie Behringer (Bayern München), Lena Goeßling (VfL Wolfsburg), Sara Däbritz (Bayern München), Melanie Leupolz (Bayern München), Isabel Kerschowski (VfL Wolfsburg) Forwards: Alexandra Popp (VfL Wolfsburg), Dzsenifer Marozsan (Olympique Lyon), Anja Mittag (Paris Saint-Germain), Mandy Islacker (1.FFC Frankfurt) Reserves: Lisa Weiß (SGS Essen), Kathrin Hendrich (1.FFC Frankfurt), Lina Magull (SC Freiburg), Svenja Huth (Turbine Potsdam) Haha ... haha ... haha ... I cant believe that Pauline Bremer, who won the champions league with Paris Saint-Germain, wasnt nominated, obviously Neid wants to be eliminated as quick as possible, to give our players longer holidays. We are also clearly missing Lena Lotzen due to injury, not to mention Sasic, Kessler and Angerer who all retired. With players like Bartusiak, Krahn, Laudehr and Behringer we could as well just give our spot to a team that really wants to win a medal. Mayer, Däbritz and Leupolz are the only interesting players in this team. Edit: If there is an other reason why Bremer wasnt nominated, then i cant blame our coach.
  9. German team: Goalkeepers: Timo Horn (1. FC Köln), Jannik Huth (FSV Mainz 05) Defenders: Robert Bauer (FC Ingolstadt), Matthias Ginter (Borussia Dortmund), Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig), Philipp Max (FC Augsburg), Niklas Süle (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim), Jeremy Toljan (TSG 1899 Hoffenheim) Midfielders: Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen), Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund), Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen), Max Christiansen (FC Ingolstadt), Serge Gnabry (FC Arsenal), Leon Goretzka (FC Schalke 04), Max Meyer (FC Schalke 04) Forwards: Nils Petersen (FC Freiburg), Grischa Prömel (Karlsruher SC), Davie Selke (RB Leipzig) Horn, Ginter, Klostermann, Süle, Toljan, Lars Bender, Brandt, Goretzka, Meyer and Selke are good selections. All other players dont belong in this team. I am missing at least one out of Weiser/Gerhardt, a second good goalkeeper (Karius), Dahoud, a second good striker (Volland) and a second good winger (Bellarabi).
  10. Germany only nominated Anne Haug, we will give back our other 4 spots (2 on the mens side and 2 on the womens side).
  11. Congrats, didnt know that it was so close for him, i always thought that he would be top 12 at the olympics, lets see ...
  12. World championships were also a qualification event, african championships as well (at least i think so) and so on. I dont think that "won" is the right word in this context, but maybe i am wrong ... In the end it doesnt really matter anyway, i just found the word "won" a bit strange in this context.
  13. Schwazer was stupid enough to mess it up on his own, he obviously was on a mission to beat Efimova as the most stupid doper ever. Seppelt, Stepanova and her husband were the reason why the russian athletes got banned, IAAF just didnt have a choice in the end. I am sure that russian athletes wouldve been allowed to compete in Rio otherwise. At first i thought that you wanted to say that the russian walkers/Schwazer are afraid to lose against the canadian race walkers, but we both know that this wouldnt have happened anyway.
  14. Thanks for this insight! So ... how do i get a negative reputation/downvotes?
  15. German team was supposed to be announced today, but today they announced that it will be postponed until tomorrow ... Obviously most clubs dont want to send their players to the olympics, in the end we will have a reserve team at best. All players who change their club this year wont be nominated and at most 2 players from the same club will be nominated. The following players are officially out of the olympics: Antonio Rüdiger, Julian Draxler, Jonathan Tah, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Julian Weigl, Timo Werner, Emre Can I hope that at least the following players will be available: Horn, Karius Ginter, Süle, Weiser, Gerhardt, Stark, Toljan, Klostermann Meyer, Geis/Goretzka, Dahoud, Arnold, Brandt Selke The other 3 spots should go to players born in 1992 or earlier, i think Lars Bender already said that he wants to play the olympics. We could clearly use players like Gündogan, Reus, Volland, Bellarabi, Stindl, Trapp, Kramer or Castro.
  16. Curious? "Won" qualification? Drux and Wiencek were also missing due to injury. Heinevetter wasnt nominated. Dissinger and Weinhold both missed the semifinal and final.
  17. Didnt you give other users the advice to ignore me ... ? So i can answer you now and expect to get an answer? Heinevetter is completely mad, i dont like him at all, he seems to be extremely unfriendly and in addition to that he has some crazy saves but is average at best for the rest of the time.
  18. Storl, Schwanitz, R.Harting, Roleder, Krause, Holzdeppe, Heß, Fischer, Heidler, Hussong, Röhler, Vetter and Abele all have at least a 50% chance to win a medal in my opinion. Our womens 4x100m relay, Moguenara, C.Harting, Stahl, Weber and Schäfer all have at least a 25% chance to win a medal in my opinion. That adds up to at least 8 medals. Ryzih, Gierisch/Elbe, Linke, Jungfleisch, our mens 4x100m relay, Müller, Tesfaye, Obergföll, Kazmirek and Onnen all have about a 10% chance for a medal, so this would add up to 9 medals at least. 7 medals would be very disappointing in my opinion, in the last 20 years or so we have never been better in athletics.
  19. His best result in the qualifying period is 76.21m from last year, so he should be safe. Maybe they took him off the list of non-qualified athletes and just forgot to add him to the list of qualified athletes. The best athlete on the list of non-qualified athletes has a result of 75.96m and the worst athlete on the list of qualified athletes has a result of 76.18m, Melich has a better result than both and should be safe. I think they get their data from tilastopaja.org website.
  20. GERMANY MEN'S TEAM Goalkeeper: Silvio Heinevetter (Füchse Berlin) Andreas Wolff (THW Kiel) Left wing: Uwe Gensheimer (Paris St. Germain HB) Left back: Finn Lemke (SC Magedeburg) Julius Kühn (VfL Gummersbach) Christian Dissinger (THW Kiel) Center back: Martin Strobel (HBW Balingen-Weilstetten) Paul Drux (Füchse Berlin) Right back: Fabian Wiede (Füchse Berlin) Kai Häfner (TSV Hannover-Burgdorf) Right wing: Tobias Reichmann (KS Vive Tauron Kielce) Patrick Groetzki (Rhein-Neckar Löwen) Pivot: Patrick Wiencek (THW Kiel) Hendrik Pekeler (Rhein-Neckar Löwen) Reserves: Steffen Fäth (Füchse Berlin) Carsten Lichtlein (VfL Gummersbach) Steffen Weinhold (THW Kiel) Very sad that Weinhold isnt part of the team, this will hurt us a lot.
  21. Normally about half of the medal contenders win a medal and we have at least 20 medal contenders: Storl, Röhler, Vetter, Weber, C.Harting, R.Harting, Onnen, Holzdeppe (if fit), Heß, Abele, Kazmirek, Linke, Tesfaye, mens 4x100m relay, Schwanitz, Heidler, Stahl, Hussong, Fischer/Müller, Mihambo/Moguenara (if fit), Jungfleisch, Ryzih, Gierisch/Elbe, Schäfer, Roleder, Krause, womens 4x100m relay. Some of them are unlikely to win a medal, but Storl/Röhler/Vetter/R.Harting/Holzdeppe/Heß/Abele/Schwanitz/Heidler/Stahl/Hussong/Fischer/Roleder/Krause/Schäfer and maybe Moguenara and our womens 4x100m relay all are among the favorites to win a medal. For me the worst case would be that "only" Storl, Röhler, R.Harting, Abele, Schwanitz, Heidler, Hussong, Fischer, Roleder and Krause win a medal. I was actually disappointed by Lückenkemper at the european championships, i expected her to run at least sub 22.50s, we have to hope that she will peak in Rio. I think she has to be at least on the same level as Lalova if she wants to reach the final. I am clearly more optimistic about Klosterhalfen, not only because 12 athletes can reach the final in womens 1500m. I just hope that Klosterhalfen wont use all her energy at the junior world championships, where she wants to win two medals.
  22. 11 of our athletes are currently top 3 + Tesfaye (mens 1500m) + Linke (mens 20km race walking) + Holzdeppe (mens pole vault) + Heß (mens triple jump) + Onnen (mens high jump) + Weber (mens javelin throw) + Storl (mens shot put) + mens 4x100m relay + Krause (womens 3000m SC) + Roleder (womens 100m hurdles) + Mihambo (womens long jump) + Gierisch (womens triple jump) + Ryzih (womens pole vault) + Jungfleisch (womens high jump) + Stahl (womens javelin throw) + Schäfer (womens heptathlon). I think Holzdeppe, Heß, Storl, Krause, Roleder, Stahl and Schäfer all have a realistic chance for a medal. Do you think Lückenkemper or Klosterhalfen will reach the final in Rio?
  23. http://road-to-rio.com/ Here you can see his current position (you have to select men's 400m hurdles). I think he needs to hope that 3 faster guys (assuming that no russian athlete will be allowed to compete) decline their spot. I am not very optimistic, its very sad that Franz and Königsmark werent able to get back into their top shape. How many medals do you expect? I think 10-12 medals would be a good result for us.
  24. http://www.sueddeutsche.de/muenchen/sport/leichtathletik-nur-noch-drei-1.3077217 Same was true for Kock and Sujew, but both are now officialy in, because enough athletes ranked ahead of them declined their place.
