  1. Nooo, we were so Close to Gold, congrats to GB. I dont have much hope that one of the british Girls will be caught.
  2. Its completely stupid that you can qualify a relay by running 2 fast times in the same competition on a super fast track. Nigeria, Russia and Ukraine had their two fastest times in just 2 days on the super fast track in Beijing.
  3. Whoever planned the start of the half-marathon is extremely stupid. The kenyan guy who now competes for Azerbaijan actually wanted to get russian citizenship, but when it didnt work, he just became a citizen of Azerbaijan ... I think EAA should just expel Turkey. If Turkey wants to continue with this embarrassing shit, then they should try to do it in Asia (or better Africa). At a global stage this doesnt really bother me, because Turkey wont win any medals at olympic games or world championships anyway.
  4. Results of the second german national qualification event: Toba 88.075 Nguyen 86.750 Bretschneider 86.000 Dauser 85.900 Hambüchen 44.325 (he only did high bar, floor and vault) Toba, Nguyen, Bretschneider, Hambüchen and Dauser will go to Rio. I wouldve preferred Rittschik instead of Dauser, because he has a difficulty of 7.1 on pommel horse and couldve reached the final there, Dauser on the other hand has no chance for an individual final. Our team score will probably be better with Dauser, but we wont win a medal anyway, so we shouldve nominated those guys who have the best chance for an individual medal. Floor: Hambüchen 15.2 (6.2), Bretschneider 14.975 (6.0), Nguyen 14.750 (6.0) Pommel horse: 14.425 (5.7), Dauser 13.350 (5.6), Nguyen 13.275 (5.2) Rings: Nguyen 15.425 (6.4), Toba 15.075 (6.4), Bretschneider 14.625 (5.8) Vault: Toba 14.550 (5.6), Bretschneider 14.525 (5.2), Dauser 14.050 (5.6) Parallel bars: Nguyen 15.975 (6.9), Dauser 15.675 (6.7), Bretschneider 14.700 (5.7) High bar: Hambüchen 16.000 (7.1), Toba 14.900 (6.5), Dauser 14.125 (5.8) On the womens side Seitz, Schäfer, Scheder, Bui and Alt will go to Rio. Scheder 58.066 Seitz 57.498 Bui 57.266 Schäfer 57.099 Alt 57.065 Vault: Alt 14.666 (5.8), Schäfer 14.566 (5.4), Scheder 14.200 (5.0) Floor: Bui 14.133 (5.7), Schäfer 14.133 (5.5), Scheder 13.833 (5,3) Beam: Alt 15.200 (6.3), Scheder 14.700 (5.6), Schäfer 14.500 (5.9) Uneven bars: Seitz 15.466 (6.6), Scheder 15.333 (6.6), Bui 15.033 (6.3) On the mens side pommel horse will kill us again and on the womens side floor will kill us. 4 individual finals on the mens side (2 x high bar and 2 x parallel bars) and 4 individual finals on the womens side (2 x uneven bars and 2 x beam) would be a great result for us.
  5. No, its a different Yasemine Can, but maybe i just didnt understand the irony ...
  6. Great ,,, He seemed almost too fast to be non-african. I guess there is no chance that a real european athlete will win a medal in mens half marathon or mens 5000m.
  7. Fastest entry times in mens half marathon: Kaan Kigen Özbilen (competes for Turkey) 59:58 Evans Kiplagat (competes for Azerbaijan) 59:56 Tadesse Abraham (competes for Switzerland) 1:00.42 Fastest entry times in mens 5000m: Ali Kaya (competes for Turkey) 13:00.31 Ilias Fifa (competes for Spain) 13:05.61 Hayle Ibrahimov (competes for Azerbaijan) 13:09.17
  8. Tomorrow should be a good day for Germany, with 3-4 golds. Turkey should win 2 more golds thanks to their kenyan athletes and they might really win the medal table, but i doubt that they will win any medal in Rio.
  9. Disappointing result for Tesfaye, he just doesnt know how to run tactical races. I still would bet a lot that he will be the best european runner in Rio.
  10. Harting with the same stupid mistake all the time. He throws shit in the first 5 rounds, then wakes up in the last round and misses a medal by only a couple of cm.
  11. Haha, the ukrainian girl in womens 800 just sprinted easily past everyone in the last 50, what a joke. I think she is the only one who could trouble Semenya, Niyonsaba and Wambui in Rio.
  12. I hope Kovago wont win a medal. Ryzih didnt even try to win gold, she just ended the competition after she cleared 4.70m. Without the two russian girls and Büchler the level of competition has been pretty weak, but i think Stefanidi will also win a medal in Rio. So far the level of competition in field events has been pretty weak, especially in womens long jump, womens high jump, mens long jump, mens pole vault and mens triple jump.
  13. Its funny that there are two turkish girls with the name Yasemine Can. One of them (the 10000m runner) is naturalized, the other one isnt. Most naturalized athletes seem to get the name "Kaya" anyway.
  14. Hopefully Pinto will be alright. Yesterday she said that she got injured before womens 100m final during warmup and therefore couldnt race as fast as expected.
  15. Yeah, thats what i remembered him for. I always thought that officials didnt know if Sheryf was his first name or his last name and thats why they "gave" him this weird name.
  16. I think i will cheer for the british womens 4x100m relay in the final, if this would be a model contest, then they wouldve already won it, no matter who competes in the second heat.
  17. Correct, sadly i dont have a prize for you ... Do you also remeber his former name (without looking it up)?
  18. Let's see who can answer this question first: For which nation did the turkish triple jumper compete before he became a turkish citizen? (I knew that i had seen his face before and then i remembered him, because he had a very funny name)
  19. Thanks to Stahl's throw Obergföll will miss Rio 99%, she won silver in London. I am very sad for her, but Stahl is simply amazing and deserves to be in Rio, considering that she hasnt much time to train and still manages to be world-class.
  20. Its a very interesting "coincidence" that all favorites except for the Netherlands had to run in lane 1 or lane 8 ...
  21. In womens javelin throw a girl from Belarus comes out of nowhere and throws a national record ... The good thing about athletes from Belarus is that they always get caught very quick.
  22. Women's shot put: Claudine Vita (born in 1996) - 17.90m Men's high jump: Mateusz Przybylko 2.29m Konstanze Klosterhalfen (born in 1997) sadly missed the 800m standard by 0.05s (2:01.55). She now has the following PB's: 800m: 2:01.55 1500m: 4:06.91 3000m: 8:53.21 (from last year) 10000m: 32:24 (road race out of full training in March) It's gonna be interesting to see what she can do at the junior world championships, where she will compete in womens 1500m and womens 3000m.
  23. Has someone a results link for american trials? I heard some crazy results: Payne out in qualification with 4.25m? Little out in the semifinal? Stowers, Nelvis and Harrison all not qualified? This would be very good news for Roleder ...
  24. She is 33 years old and suddenly runs her fastest time since 6 years, for me thats not a positive thing. Felix and Miller are miles ahead of her, it would be a miracle for her to beat one of them. Then we also have Semenya (if she competes), 2 more american girls, 3 jamaican girls and maybe Ohuruogu. If Semenya competes, then it would be a great result for Grenot to reach the final.
  25. I think she has a shot at reaching the final in Rio, but thats it and i am glad that she wont win a medal.
